He was ****e until he scored. Held the ball up well but other than that we just gave him enough clear chances that he finally put one away.

Thought he was very clumsy but a good target man to hit. Brought it down beautifully on a couple of occasions

Honestly think the lad’s confidence is shot to ****.2 easy edge if 6 yard catches in the first half and he was rooted. Dud t have to challenge just shout and catch. He would have 6 games ago.
But the problem with that is getting the confidence to do it, back! It’s easier building shot stopping confidence as they’re just reactions. But attacking a ball from your line is something you have to measure and not something you can instinctively do. Glad I’m not a manager

Criminal that he wasn’t starting over Rigg for a period when he was clearly shattered mind. Don’t think either of them are starters when everyone is fit but Aleksic seemed like a natural replacement for a few matches to let Rigg recover. Think he, along with Mayenda, has been really unlucky to not get more minutes.

Thought he was good personally. Had zero support at times but the way he held the ball up was excellent. Worked tirelessly as well.

Missed a couple of big chances but took his goal very well.

Spot on, Neil and Bellingham were swamped in midfield in a 4-4-2, neither had any time on the ball. Once we went 4-3-3, Neil dropped back and started to control the game (except when he was caught daydreaming for their goal).
I hate 4-4-2 though so I am biased.

I said last week Burnley and Sheff Utd would drop more than enough points for us to catch them, it's just whether we capitalise when they do. 3 points tonight would have been huge, they also have each other to play, if that ends up a draw then the gap could have only been 4 points.
However at the start of the season play offs would definitely have been a good season and the fact its looking that way with 9 games left is a bonus.
On our day we can beat anyone in this league

The two up front didn’t suit either of them.

Watson was only there to gain fitness in my opinion.

    Roberts was easily my MOTM.

Mayenda was brought off to protect him, he wasn’t running correctly .

The midfield look lost, though now Jobe can challenge again he should improve.

This would’ve been a totally different game with Le Fée.

RLB seems to be trying different options which would mean he's given up on top two …

… it needs sorting though, tonight’s performance wouldn’t get us through the playoffs.

That was another disjointed performance, though we still had quite a few good chances.
On a very cold night we, the fans, were very quiet, but we had 'nothing to shout about' until it livened up after Preston's deliberate delay tactics (cheating) and the ref. lost control . . . . he should have booked their no.44 after she sat down, got up, and sat down again. He should also have sent off their 'keeper, but after booking him he deliberately looked away so that he couldn't see him when he took goal kicks after the booking !
My opinion of Preston changed tonight after they cheated their way to a point, and the 100 or so fans were abusive towards us :emoticon-0101-sadsm

We came away disappointed, but although we could say that it was a missed opportunity, given other results, we didn't 'lose any ground' and we will get better after last night's experiment by Reggie didn't work :emoticon-0148-yes:

Thought Jobe and Neil were off it. Both looked flat and shattered in the second half. Thought it was poor from RLB have Brown and Aleksic on the bench and not get any of them on. Neil has had a few games on the spin where is has dipped, might need a breather. Jobe never seems to be allowed one. But it definitely cost us last night. We were sloppy no matter the system.

What an absolute ****house of a club man. Heckingbottom blaming the ref cos he wanted to make the sub. He wanted to make it whilst there was a break in play because they had used their 3 stoppages. However the player has to be ready to come on the field or the game restarts. PNE were ****ing awful, but they were allowed to be by a piss weak referee. On the flip side he was the catalyst for us, because before that, Sunderland players weren’t even looking at each other never mind encouraging.

Anyone else, on occasion struggle to work out what the game plan is under Le Bris?

Really not taking away from his achievements this years, the results have generally been excellent and player development looks tremendous.

The fact that we are this deep into the year and the play-offs are assured suggests it is a very successful season.

I just sometimes don't really see what stall it is that he is setting out for games.

You're right, the referee turned away from their keeper and ignored all the booing about his timewasting …

    … what a coward.
