There was genuine interest from Premier League clubs in Zambrano. Man Utd, Brighton and Luton were looking at him.

We wouldn’t have had a look in, if he hadn’t had this hanging over him. If we can keep him for next season we will genuinely have a very solid looking midfield with Alzate, Metazo, Puerta and Zambrano.

You also have to take into stock that we’ve only seen Zambrano play in a Walter midfield we’re the aim was to bypass them.

I thought he generally looked a cut above in the few appearances he had for us. I clearly remember that moment he slipped and still expertly controlled a long ball despite being on the deck. I think it'd be really short sighted at this point if we didn't end up bringing him in permanently seeing as we've stuck by him this far - and hopefully that's exactly what the plan is, and always has been.

His performance against Cardiff gave us insight of what he is capable of. It felt like he had an extra second or two that day and they couldn’t lay a glove on him.

Him and Alzate would be an amazing combination.

Not sure if we'd play both unless alzate played more advanced, not sure selles goes for the double pivot.

Alzate won’t be here next season if he continues as he is. 100% a premier league player

Seen a few people saying that but do we really think so? He's great, but when you look at City players who've got PL moves it's only players who are seriously stand-out at this level, and generally they have to be young as well. Alzate isn't old but he's not like a KLP, Bowen or Philogene where he's got obvious years of development ahead of him. Greaves didn't go until he was way too good for this division. I don't think Alzate is in that category.

I'm not sure I agree on that on the back of what we've seen. He's very good but he's not getting in the Championship team of the season, and not sure he's even really in the conversation.

He’s been the best midfielder on the pitch in pretty much every game recently. Blunts fans friends of mine couldn’t believe we actually have him. Was the best midfielder on the pitch against Leeds too

He’s started 10 games out of a possible 30, of course he isn’t?

Personally, I don't think we have seen the best of him yet, he is getting better each time he plays.

Ok let me rephrase, he wouldn't be getting in a team of the second half of the season. He's a good player, probably a play off calibre player, but I'm not sure there's going to be PL clubs queuing up to sign him in the summer.
