Possibly.. There's a large number that are actively against anything significant ever happening.

In the end they decided they don't want to even try to be a different club. They're against change from pre match activities to 2 billion pound stadiums and more investment in the area.

It's their right people like what they like at the end of the day.

New stadium, Leazes pivot for me. Need a new ground, on land we can actually own as well. Plus we have issues with groundsharing that needs to be taken into serious consideration, can't be going to Murrayfield or Middlesborough for the next 2-3 years, fairly big losses in that time as well.

Yeah this.
70k would still be immense. Especially in a modern stadium with extra facilities. The revenue opportunities (including stadium/stand naming rights) would be massive.

But like you say, the real key would be keeping the atmosphere, not creating a huge stadium that feels dead.

Fat Boy using words such as

“Immense”

“massive”

“huge”

Not really a surprise, I suppose.

understands that the new bowl-shaped stadium would be higher than St James’ Park, making it an even more imposing feature of the city’s skyline.

It's says just under 70k and it will cost 1. 2 billion, which puts it in the same category as the spurs stadium, and makes Evertons look like a wimpey home.
I hope this does go ahead. It's the best way for the club to make a genuine leap forward, rather than the banana steps the EPL / dirty six keep making us perform.

Just reading and we are talking 7 years before they'd ever play in this, even if its approved by PIF, and local planning permission is granted.

It would just be nice to get something like that announced officially, because it's a statement of real intent.

The training ground will be done and dusted long before that though, which is good.

Exciting times ahead, if we can stay alive for a decade or two longer.
