Said it earlier about Brighton, they really buy in to being a stepping stone and it makes them so attractive for players. It's hard seeing players leave but there's always new players to come in and love.

Very true.

We could live with being where Brighton been last few years for sure.

Makes a change from players leaving for pennies after being dog **** for 3 year.

I think we perhaps buy into that as well. It’s why we’re attractive and why I am very willing to believe we have “gentleman’s agreements” on values of players.

I just hope in this instance the player is sensible enough to see why that bid can’t be accepted at this time. I think he is.

Can I just add I hate the transfer window with a passion. Fans **** their pants if signings aren't made, then rumours start about selling players and gossip becomes fact.

I've fell for it before but refuse to fall for it now, the club have earned that

transfer window should open the day after the FA Cup Final and close the day before the first games. Then not open until the next summer.

Yeah I think we do. Speakman often talks about players outgrowing us

So you believe we've agreed not to accept any higher bids, because of a handshake?

He hasn't been moved on at all, he's gone out on loan as plenty of our squad currently are.

WTF. He didn't get played nearly all season and loaned a the first chance.

Hasn't been moved on....

Haway man. .

It was said he wouldn't play. He hasn't and has been binned in January. It happened

Don’t agree with this mate. We’re all adults on a forum discussing our club and most of us come on here for some crack and a bit of info about Sunderland that we wouldn’t get otherwise. If people choose to have a meltdown over information that someone who knows more than they do offers then that’s on them.

Obviously a few different camps in terms of attitudes when we lose etc some of us lose it easier than us but in general there’s really good, knowledgeable posters on here whether that’s Sunderland “ITK” shyte, players were linked with, deciphering and analysing matches etc. I for one am certainly grateful for that <cheers>
Mate, the last hour has been hints that we have "agreements" with most of our players and Jobe in particular has an "agreement" that £23 million is the magic number.

By tomorrow rtg, twitter and all social safc social media will have picked up on it, be it bullshit or not.

That's not healthy imo

No. It'll be a case of sign this contract or stay for another season and we won't stand in your way if a suitable offer comes in. Pretty sure that was what we said to Clarke last January.

Archie Gray always gets mentioned when discussing transfer fees but he’s a cracking player with serious potential. His versatility is priceless too
Yes he is versatile, in a defensive way. However, Jobe is also very versatile in a more attacking sense, which generally means a higher premium (Number 6, 8, 9 & 10), all on the last 12 months.
