No offence mate but that's way too simplistic tbh. If it was just Russel Martin things would've improved but they keep losing including 0-5 at home to Brentford. They loved the manager, according to the fans, but he was soon kicked and not all the fault was his ... I wouldn't want that to happen with us. Besides, Southampton was just an example of clubs that just want PL football and do anything and everything to get promoted. Sheff Utd are another example. Having taken up an ill equipped team, that was rightly relegated, they're now assembling another with knee jerk chaotic signings. Burnley signed players who, once relegated, left the club like a plague of rats on a sinking ship ... no loyalty whatsoever. It's these kind of situations I really don't want to see at Sunderland ... ... if we follow the same pattern we might be as good as them but I'd like to hope we can be better. Anyway, just my opinion and, like I say, I may be hoping for too much.
ELF is an exceptional case mind on account of his relationship with the head coach. If Le Bris wasn't here and it was, say, Rohl that was our manager then Le Fee wouldn't have entertained the move.
Completely illustrates my earlier point. We provide these lads with a pathway or we lose them. Also illustrates how short term signings can hurt us. Maybe we still lose some of them. However, we'll certainly lose more if we don't stick to the plan and provide the pathway.
IDEAL. Edwards off the left, Le Fee behind Isidor, Roberts/Mayenda off the right. And then when Mundle is back, move Edwards onto the right.
There's no tribunal now is there? Think its open market once he's signed a pro deal. We'd be entitled to a small percentage of future transfer fees only.
Be gutted to lose Tommy but have to trust that the club will have done all they can to keep him if he wants to go then all the best to him we can’t keep everyone happy
The one thing I'm 100% confident about is the club are doing what's best for the club. This isn't Donald.
I missed the N was supposed to say chunt. im doing a cycling pub tour of the new forest.. so brain isn’t in gear
Nah doubt that's true. Was always tribunals for anyone under 23. There would have been uproar if that had changed.
Wonder what it would be if he played a full part those 18 months. Maybe it would be as much as £5m like @Frazier the Lion says. Wonder what Brighton would be willing to pay now.
Exactly. I don't think anyone still believes KLD is there to line his pockets ... ... if they do nothing would ever persuade them otherwise. If Watson goes it's because Watson wants to go ... if that's the case I'd rather he did tbh.
