I agree, we have looked okay in that area, yes, come the summer we need to strengthen, but McLaughlin & Jacobs has done okay, and the latter does get into goal scoring positions from time to time.
We need to secure safety before we start dreaming of playoffs, this is exact same as when people say we are overly negative after a defeat, cant get too giddy yet, a typical 0-1 defeat on Saturday and we are all looking over shoulders again. i would like to think if Barry lives up to the hype and Crooks/ Geldhart stay fit we can push up the league towards a comfortable end, i just hope we can start winning some home games and providing some home entertainment and a few goals to cheer , thats all i want for end of season now.
This is not Acun’s first season, nor is it the same team, and I did say unlikely and a few results our way and I think most people know it’s not as simple as just looking at the points gap either.
The comparison was because people also got swept up with optimism not realising how hard it actually is to make up ground.
it would be very difficult but not impossible if they continued to play like they did Friday I just can’t see relegation at all now and I do see completely different performances ahead to what we have seen earlier in the season and I also think after the ****s and Sheff games a lot more teams will be wary of how they will now approach a game against us.
if they draw yes since you are trying to just make the point it’s not possible. Anyway it’s my opinion, what I think is possible and I think the club thinks anything is possible or why bother. it is like a few wins suddenly it is 9 points then few more games it is 7 points or even 5 then if that happens anything is possible is it not.
We left it too late to sack Walter, to have any realistic chance of making the top six, but winning a few now will make a pleasant change.
Totally agree. That said we've a stronger nucleus of a squad so should avoid another major overhaul come The Summer, and with Ruben onboard personally believe it's all about building a solid foundation to push on with next season. Reasons to be optimistic after Tim's shambles!
I think you're getting sucked into the recency bias of the last game. Performances and results are volatile. You can pick the same team and it not work the next game. Our form will continue to fluctuate as it always does.
Which is a point I mentioned in an earlier post building a foundation for next season instead of all the chopping and changing players all the time, but you don’t spend that kind of money on a loan when you already have a team and manager that proved what they are capable of already to stay up, there are far worse teams above us that we will overhaul now and they most likely think they can now go on a winning run and possibly accomplish something special it’s probably crossed their minds so that’s why they are bothering if it was just survival on it’s own then I do not think they would have laid such a large loan fee out because they would have stayed up without Barry.
No I’m not we have had a number of good results and shown character in a few games recently to show we are more than capable of making a fist of it.
To make the playoffs Wed have to only drop 10 points maximum in 17 games Someones living in cloud cuckoo land We signed some good players becasue getting relegated would be a disaster
