The [HASHTAG]#hcafc[/HASHTAG] offered a 4-year contract to Matazo who has already discussed with the club by video conference. Hull is for the moment the only concrete proposal that the Belgian has, so he could accept it, for want of anything better...

well someone is subsidising the club to a tune of 500k a week!!

£500k a week for three years is £78m and Acun is only worth around £100m. Even if the amount put in to the club was half of what is suggested he’d have spent over a third of his wealth. You’d imagine most of his wealth would be in assets such as property, boats, stocks, or whatever it is rich people own, so it’s unlikely he even has that sort of cash to actually spend.

So who is putting the cash in…..you seem to have all the answers …..

Well, Acun has a personal wealth of £100m (which I think is a huge underestimation, for what it's worth). But I'd have thought Acun Medya has a much higher value given how its one of the largest media companies in Turkey, I don't know whether that counts towards his personal wealth.

One thing you can’t moan at Acun is blowing money.

3 million on Matazo
2.5 on Joseph
3/4 million on Balloumi
1 million or so on Millar
Hughes 4/5?

certainly throwing it about.
Blowing money and spending wisely are two different things. I welcome the squad strengthening of course but it has to be budgeted, what happened to the stadium and training ground plans, no mention since Kesler's disappearance?

He’s probably hoping for Premier League money for that. Blown is the wrong word. A lot of our signings have a decent sell on value.

re the accountancy CIS on Acun.... have we not done this to death. Lets just thank our stars that we have someone who puts his or his companies money in, accepts mistakes have been made in many areas and seemingly is at last going the hang of the ownership thing.

I mean it’s all going to come out of future sales isn’t it?

I do think there is an element of being too averse to risk here. We have to spend some money in order to make more money in the future. I’m always pretty dubious about these ‘£500k a week’ figures because surely many clubs run at a loss when you take transfer fees out - as that’s a major source of income

I think we’ve wasted far too much money under Acun but we also have a number of players that will be worth more than we signed them for

I completely agree with what you’re saying. I’m just not comfortable with the idea some people seem to have than Acun is a benevolent patron doing all of this out of the goodness of his heart. He’s a businessman that stands to make a lot of money from the loans he’s given the club, regardless of how they’re spent, good or bad.
