Winger, striker and defensive midfielder. Left-back would be nice too but I think we’d be okay if we didn’t get one. We absolutely cannot have Pedro, Bedia and Burstow as our only strikers, otherwise the EFL may as well relegate us in February. Simons has done okay but I still feel he needs a lot to improve on and Alzate strikes me as a technical player who needs a more defensive and physical midfielder next to him. Alzate could be a replacement for Seri.
Honestly, not impressed and definitely don’t think he’s worth the €3.5 million option or whatever it is. Personally, I don’t think we’re in a position to make either Zambrano and Puerta’s loans permanent but I’d prefer a Zambrano who is banned for the rest of the season being made permanent next summer than Puerta. Just think of Zambrano as a brand new signing next summer if we’re still in this division. Puerta’s not worth it. Tidy player but not creative, not blessed with physicality, not quick, doesn’t score goals. What does he bring to the team?
More importantly ....isn't it Winter 2024? Winter 2024 starts from this 21st December until March, then Winter 2025 runs from December 2025 to March 2026. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/learn-about/weather/seasons/winter/when-does-winter-start
Ye I can’t work out what he is tbh I was hoping a dirty little Latino who breaks up play and leaves his foot in but….
Do we a loan space? I will be brutally honest, I don't think any player who has choices will sign with biggest relegation candidate, a 2.5 years contract might end up being a 1st league player and moving out of radar, but 6 months loan for a bench warmer in top league could be helpful.
Agreed. Of all the clubs down there we are probably the worst prospect. Poor squad, little chance of getting rid of enough players to overhaul this season now and likely to be down in April. If we can terminate the 3 loans that would help a bit I suppose and free up some wiggle room, but with the likes of Coyle, Slater and Kamara on contracts and no chance of others wanting them we will be lumbered with this group and almost certainly heading down.
Oxford and plymouth are going down Us,cardiff, portsmouth, qpr, stoke etc Fighting over last spot probably
We'll be mid-table in the spring and we'll be able to look back at some of these prophecies of doom and wonder why we were so pessimistic.
