I suspect the keeper story is bollocks and though I’d love to see Tufan return, I think that’s also unlikely.
Had a haircut as the season was starting, Turkish guy who did it apparently plays footy with Acun and knew some players. He said Tufan was offered double his wage to go to Turkey, but was debating waiting at City a bit longer and hoping for a bigger Saudi offer. If that's true, I can't see us getting him back unless we can sort a loan
Sounds a bit strange, if he had a release clause then why would this be added. The only thing I can think is we negotiated a lower fee?
I guess because the release clause wasn't financial negotiations still had to take place and they then added the transfer clause. Shame really because they will still probably lose some good players but to other teams.
I don't understand such a clause. Surely they'd only sell a player to us if they wanted to anyway. And by all accounts, they're desperate to sell as much as possible anyway.
Clauses such as this do and have happened, but it's rare these days with such player power. In their financial position I also doubt it
I was always advised such clauses trying to restrict employment in that way can be written but are usually pretty worthless in practice. Maybe it will be seen more like a gentleman's agreement.
Yes, the Reading fan they had on the 1904 Club said they had been selling everyone and anyone they got an offer for, and at low prices, just keep the lights on. They seem to be proper ****ed as a club right now.
Might be worth a new thread for Jan but.. Sounds like Rushworth sticking around. Can't imagine Burns stays though so along with Belloumi, Millar and Zambrano being de-registered we should be able to bring in 3-4 new players as needed. Sounds like a winger, striker and number 6 are the priorities.
