Crucial that we get a long term deal done with Nwaneri.

This kid is going to be a big player, could be our next Saka

Never gonna play #8 for us as someone who’s 5’10. And is he really gonna come to us for £100m and be backup to Odegaard? Nah. Get better ways to spend £100m.

I think the suggestion is Partey won't be signing a new contract in the Summer, Jorginho will also be allowed to leave and Rice will go back into the No. 6 role.

    Next Season Potential line-up:

    Havertz / Sesko
    Martinelli
    Saka

    Wirtz / Merino
    Odegaard
    Rice / Wharton

    Calafiori
    Gabriel
    Saliba
    White / Timber

Seems like most outlets have picked up the news that we are back after Sesko (after bidding £60m in the Summer for him).

I'm unsure if he'd be willing to leave mid-way through a Season after only recently signing a new deal. My issue with Sesko is he's still very young and still developing.
Sure he's 6'5, skilfull and lightning quick but he's not really proven himself as a goalscorer yet.

Gyokeres is apparently 2nd option - he's 7 years older and probably more capable of making an immediate big impact. However I feel like United, Chelsea and others will be chasing him also.

I undertsand why Arteta likes Sesko though - he's more capable of playing the Havertz role and has no ceiling in terms of ability.

Seeing us being linked with Randal Kolo Muani from PSG on loan this January - how would we feel about this?

Honestly, I wouldn't be against it.

Not because I think he's a great player (because I don't), but because he has attributes that our current attack lacks.
He has pace, power and dribbling ability which makes him a counter attacking and transitional threat.
These unique qualities could help us a lot, even though he's not the best finisher or reliable in terms of decision-making.

He could be a decent option if we're not willing to spend a lot of money this January.

Bring linked to Dani Elmo whose contract is up from the 1st Jan. So a potential free transfer.

This would be a genius signing IMO.

Experienced can play as a 10 or on the wing - he's a clever creative player who gets alot of assists.
(Arguably the best player at the Euros)

It depends on what we offer, and although I want him, I just don't see Wolves selling him midway through the season when they're in a relegation battle and he's by far their best player. He's a £50m player at best but Wolves probably won't sell for at least £70m.

Agreed, but think it's going to be tricky considering Wolves' circumstances.

We'd need to overpay a lot and, although we're interested, I don't think he's a player we're willing to push the boat out for in the way we did with Rice.

I suppose we'll see, but not optimistic we can sign him unless we offer a huge fee.

How do you feel about that ? You were saying the other day that we'll get ripped off but we just need to get it done.

Personally I think he's a cracking player, and it's not just this season either. I think he scored something like 14 in his first season for Wolves and he's been one of their best players each season.

If it's a choice between Cunha now or no-one at all, I'd prefer to sign Cunha even if we have to overpay a bit. He's a quality player and can play anywhere across the front line. He has 10 goals this season for a terrible Wolves side, which is extremely impressive.

The other reason why I'd take the financial risk is the rest of our attacking options outside of Martinelli and Havertz are quite prone to injury. Jesus doesn't have a clean injury record and Trossard's picked up a few knocks over the last season too. I know Arteta's said Nwaneri can be an option too, but not only is that shoehorning him into a position that isn't natural, he's still 17 years old, so we shouldn't be pinning our hopes on him to rescue us.

So yeah, I'd do it providing it's £70m or less. Anything more and I think it's not worth it, so would need to look at other options.

He's literally just been given a 5-match ban by the FA, too. This was based on his reaction in the aftermath of Wolves' loss to Ipswich.

I think this will reduce our likelihood of signing him.
If we don't sign him, I'm OK with it, because I don't consider him to be an elite talent (though he is very good).
But we still need to bring someone in - whether it's a loan or permanent deal, we need an extra body in attack.

Yeah I saw this 4 days ago. But there's been no reliable outlets reporting this. And honestly, it seems unlikely we'd fork out £60m on a player like Moleiro who doesn't seem to fit the profile that Arteta wants.

Fabio Vieira been left out of Porto's squad due to 'technical reasons' and there was reportedly a private flight being tracked from Porto to London a couple of hours ago.

Suggestions that we've recalled Fabio Vieira from his loan in Portugal. Not sure how to feel about this. Yes, he offers depth and quality in the final third, but he doesn't solve our issues in the front line. Also, will Arteta even use him? Assuming we have recalled him, I'm hoping this isn't the only thing we do in January.

    Looking at the main targets:

Sesko is Arteta's top priority (according to Ornstein) we bid for him in the Summer and he decided to stay at Leipzig for one more year - so I doubt he will OK a January move.

Isak - has soo much hype around him right now the price tag would be ridiculously high. Newcastle asking for £150m. Is he worth that with his fitness record?

Kudus - City, United and Liverpool Interested. West Ham don't want to sell.

Cunha Quality player having good Season. But he reminds me of Havertz and Jesus - not really a CF, Not going to take the No.10 role ahead of Odegaard.

Gyokeres somehow seems the easier target - yet i'm not sure Arteta really wants him at the Club.

Seems likely that we go for Sesko in all honestly. I don't mind him, but he's still very young and his goalscoring record is decent but not spectacular. He'd be an improvement on what we have now, but is that improvement significant enough to win us major honours? I'm yet to be convinced.

Isak is the dream, but Newcastle's asking price (understandably) is too much and I don't see them budging, especially with 3 years left on his deal and them fighting for a CL place currently.

Kudus would be a good signing, however, can't see West Ham letting him go for less than his release clause (£85m) and he's definitely not worth that.

Cunha I'd be open to signing - providing it's between £60m-£70m. But he's not a level-raiser, he just improves the depth of quality of our squad.

As I've said previously, The Athletic were saying that we're apparently not convinced by Gyokeres and not likely to pursue him, so I think this one isn't likely.
