Nah thats fair enough mate I’d be surprised if anyone has kept up with him since he left Liverpool! Can’t say the Dutch league is one that interests me just know Ajax went through a bit of a sh*t period from gambling on that league a fair bit and they seemed to improve a lot as the season went on. I don’t think there’s really a wrong answer to this tbh I understand both sides of the argument and I wouldn’t be bothered if we did or didn’t bring him in, even though I think it would be a positive. Wouldn’t be the end of the world if we didn’t, as mentioned he’s 34 now and defo past his best. When he was at his best he was far too good for us though.
That sums it up perfectly for me. Yes there are British workers who go to work in Saudi but they don't get up on their high horse lecturing other people about accepting homosexuals, etc, before they take their pieces of silver. He's as bad as the courageous Magpie rainbow warriors who marched through Newcastle then dropped their campaign like a stone when the Saudi money showed up.
Yes he has massively improved, Neil would have done great in that Ipswich team last season doesn't mean Morsy is a better player than Neil tho We were a mess last season and he was one of the few players that actually played well Yes he's had a few poor games this season but he was good against Burnley (until the stupid red card), was good against Boro, Derby and Leeds He was poor at Cardiff and Watford in particular tho
Only seen him a couple times for Ajax n he's been poor, from the guys I speak to over there they said he hasn't been great n that his legs have gone. They said the Dutch is probably ideally for him now as he doesn't get around the pitch like he used too (expected as someone gets older tho)
We had a chance to sign him before his transfer to Saudi and we never took it up, why would we do it now when we have a young squad bursting with energy and skill. It's a none story
I was going to go on a diatribe about Islam and the west. Then I decided “sod it, it’s not worth the grief!!”
I thought he looked good against Jagiellonia in both legs but obviously a risk you take trying to re-introduce someone to a better level of football than they’re currently playing at. Not sure I agree on Neil looking great in that Ipswich team, he didn’t look great when we finished 6th and Morsy/Luongo got the basics spot on. If they didn’t then Ipswich wouldn’t have succeeded imo. If you remove Morsy and put Neil in there with his lack of understanding the basic defensive awareness required for that role they would’ve been a worse team, not to mention the experience Morsy brings.
Neil walks into that Ipswich side of last season no doubt at all They got promoted because of a brilliant manager Morsy was good for them but put him in our team last season and I bet he would have been poor (or at least a lot lot worse than he was for Ipswich)
You ignored everything people said and suggested they're only upset because the Saudis are Muslims. You made a ridiculous suggestion and I answered it sarcastically ... ... if you want decent responses you have to ask reasonable questions. And that's my last word, like it or not, I'm not getting into a month long hair splitting saga about the meaning of words which leaves common sense behind and ignores the actual point.
Hendo bad because he takes evil oil money. Oil money evil because Saudi regime is immoral and does bad things, doesn't support pride month, because they're Muslims. That's it. That's all it is.
McKenna undoubtedly brilliant but we know this division isn’t that easy. Why has nobody signed Neil if he’s THAT good? Especially Ipswich when they were hoovering up championship talent. He’s not got long on his contract either I don’t think so wouldn’t be much. Our fans speak of him playing for England one day, as long as I have a hole in my arse he will not get a call up. He’s not a young lad anymore. The top teams in the PL are fielding players of a similar age who are much much better. As for England - Rice and Gallagher are only two years older than him yet bags of PL/european experience and Mainoo/Wharton both younger yet playing a level above. I just don’t see where this apparent big move he could get is coming from.
We have had offers in him for him tho, I know this for a fact Just because he is still with us doesn't mean he hasn't developed Do I think he will play for England? No I don't, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he does - some people develop at different times. When Kane was a youngster no1 thought he was going to turn into the goal machine that he's become. Neil is a very good Championship CM, who has continued to develop yr on yr - but because he's had a few poor games this season Some are totally writting him off
No I'm not gonna ask for a tin helmet.... Yes we all agree that his choice was wrong,....and on so many moral levels, right? But can we all just not castigate him ffs !...... instead, can we not just simply 'kind of' accept his own reasons why? Surely.......do you all hate him this much for taking rotten money/....Yes we all know what he was chosen to represent as an England Capt... However, he might be your Son....so do you shun him when he comes home? Yes we have moved on, but lads we are so lucky to have a mint selection of MF options, but.... last year we did not ! One of our own - thrown to the wolves eh? ....Nice ! How many of us would have - at least welcomed him back as a player or as a coach? none of you.... ps, be gentle I'm in dock x
