It's a constant feature of being a City fan that the topic of gimmicks to improve the atmosphere is never far from coming up. As always, gimmicks don't work. The atmosphere is dependent on the mood of the crowd. Too often our crowd are frustrated and fed up, and at other times like Saturday the crowd is satisfied but not on the edge of their seats because there are no real stakes. The Ipswich home game at the end of last season was one of the best atmospheres the stadium has seen, because it was a good performance against a good opposition, with huge stakes to play for, and a dramatic game which kept swinging back and forth.
It's a no from me. Turned Bournemouth v saints off at half time last night, c##t with the drum was doing my head in. Singing, chanting, cheering and clapping are all acceptable. A good atmosphere can be created without a £@@£in drum. We just don't achieve it enough.
A 4-1 win and people were leaving early when 3-1 up. Whilst the players were still shaking hands with the opposition East Stand was virtually empty. Saw end of Ipswich game and the players went round the whole pitch acknowledging the fans and they were all still full. Given up hoping we will ever have the sort of atmosphere some similar sized clubs have.
From the away fans. Cardiff just didnt bring many so no sound Last loud kc Was the newcastle friendly And it was the away fans Sad indictment we need a full away end for a noisy atmosphere
North stand is a weird place. It's obviously where the noise is but it's very sporadic. There are groups of lads in there who obviously enjoy the day out more than the game. Fair enough maybe but they're just not engaged with the game a lot of the time, unless it's to moan about our passing at the back or short corners. On Saturday a group of people behind me were discussing in detail the Liverpool game, who'd been scoring for them lately and who should be dropped. Not a surprise to hear that in Hull but I'd have thought the North stand at City was one of the few places you wouldn't get it.
Was it the sheff u fa cup semi Pub in london before the game Had city fans orgasming when liverpool scored in some prem title decider game
We sat back and almost let a poor Cardiff back into the game, it was quiet because the crowd were scared ****less we were going to **** it up, on our birthday party (typical City). Goal music would not have helped, playing better, on the front foot would. When we got the fourth it was bedlam in the South stand. I absolutely definitely don't want ****ing goal music!!!!!!!!
Bloody hell, Walter’s just starting to win a few fans around and now he wants to introduce goal music, the guy is a glutton for punishment. It’s a stupid idea, it didn’t work before and the fans made their thoughts well known then. It should be a non-starter.
Happened to me, Anfield away, Hull lad next to me gushing over the Liverpool players and a bitch wearing a half and half shirt, we got a 0-0 and you never heard the Kop sing, where was their famous atmosphere? What did the plastics do when we beat them 3 times at home?
He “orchestrates” the song before the game kicks off from the dug out waving his arms around and then probably thinks why do they go quiet after such a loud noise? Maybe he’s trying to get something for people to sing
One of my best mates is a lifelong Liverpool "fan" from Hull. I love him but have no respect for that at all. Like they always do, he says it's not because they're a top side but because his uncle got them into it or something. I sometimes wonder just how many dyed in the wool scouse uncles must've moved to Hull during the 80s and 90s.
If it helps with the atmosphere then crack on. I imagine a big chunk of those objecting are just miserable like me. I'm learning to go with the flow and maybe they can too. I'd quite enjoy watching Bedia dance to Oh L'Amour by erasure as he bags his hat trick.
It would be even better if it then started each stands chant We're the east stand We're the east stand We're the east stand Hull City
