I have a modicum of sympathy for Tim Walter. The atmosphere at bigger grounds in Germany is incredible - much rowdier, constant and organised than in England. We are a bit obsessed with fan atmosphere being organic and not fully organised - it’s a view I share entirely - but we do probably miss something for thinking that way.

Goal music can **** off though.

We don't leave before the players do, plenty around us do the same. For the avoidance of doubt he can shove goal music up his arschloch, and if it does come myself, and I suspect many others, will give it the 'welcome' it deserves.
Oh, and when we play Sunderland at home Elvis shouldn't be in the building. :emoticon-0138-think

Ill stick my head abive the parapet here.

If we pick the right song, goal music would probably be significantly less cringe than playing an Elvis song that's affiliated with other teams just before kickoff. Asking the players for recommendations is probably not that wise though.

I hated the introduction to the stands too, but at least that amped the crowd up.

Not sure I buy the argument that because we do something a bit ****, we should do something else a bit ****.

Less **** is an improvement, Baby steps and all that. Entirely subjective though.

Personally, I'd like to see the PA turned down from 11 to about 6 pre-match. Hard to build any atmosphere when you can barely talk to your neighbours.

Unfortunately, the horse bolted a long time ago. You cannot revive what has been lost in terms of atmosphere and the organic expressions of joy, despair, relief, etc that football precipitates in fans
Goal music would be much less **** than the flag wavers behind the goals. It's crap when Arsenal do it, let alone when City attempt the same with what look like a couple of A4 paper-sized ones they've found at the back of the club shop

Is it just me that thought that article was a bit of '**** stirring' click bait from Baz. He knows full well that the majority of fans will hate the idea, and it will end up with TW looking a bit daft. I know some will say "Tim said it so why shouldn't he report it" or "It's his job to generate clicks" etc. but I definitely sense a bit of glee in that article knowing TW will get stick for it.

not overly arsed about goal music either way tbh, but as others really don't like it, I don't think it's a good idea.

However, The elephant in the room is that the home atmosphere is ****e. I can't remember a game where we battered the opposition so much yet the stadium felt so flat, it was bizarre.
Never really recovered from evicting and splitting up fans who had sat together in East Stand from the stadium being opened...then evicting them again...then once more for good luck

The chance of managing to get the people who wanted to sing together again after that was zero. Particularly as others who liked the idea of being close to any atmosphere without actually contributing squeezed themselves in every time there was an enforced move

It's the Allams fault...t'was ever thus

I'd resume evictions again though and have anyone who is in a noisier area but doesn't join in singing evicted and sent to a quiet corner to think about what they've done.

yep, I've been saying for ages they need to get the east stand back to being the 'main' stand.

I sit right in the south east corner and people will sing, it's just that songs don't get started. They used to filter down from the more hardcore in E2 or whatever, but they don't make it out of the north stand any more.

Got to the point now as well, were people don't know the new songs. I've no idea what half of them are now!

There atmosphere is great when we score its the rest of the time it's flat.

So play the rest of the game and turn it down when we score. I'm thinking the Benny Hill Music....

Agree
Theres too big a gap between north stand home fans and east stand home fans
