,,, sorry, of course I meant Pre-Wayne Rooney's Plymouth ramble Sunderland players and supporters have been absolutely hammered with early kick-offs and huge distances at the start of this season, at this rate we'll be treating Watford as a local derby. Despite the distance Plymouth is always a popular away trip, sells out and gets great support, I think that's because loads stay for the weekend so are as fresh as the locals on the day, 1638 and sold out again this time. As this match is a 3pm in September it makes it easier for people travelling on the day or making it a mini-break in decent weather, I'm down for the weekend. Hopefully the break will allow RLB time with the fringe players and involve them, I wonder if there'll be a 'behind closed doors' game for that reason. Whatever the case he has serious selection issues with Neil available, Rigg 'undroppable' and Mayenda scoring in an unbeaten team. It's impossible to know how Plymouth will play, their tactics seem to be decided after kick-off They do seem to be having plenty of shots recently but scoring few goals although Whittaker is always likely to fire one in despite being erratic and moody. I obviously want us to create history, more than anything, but certainly don't want us to be the first team to lose to potato head, especially as I expect them to go down. If Rooney manages to out-manoeuvre RLB I'll be amazed to be honest. A win down there would set up the Boro match perfectly and, as it comes between three long away games, should be close to capacity despite it being the main match on Sky ... ... win that and there'll be a real sense of 'summats happening'
Unfortunately won’t be at this one, but a few of the lads are down Friday - Sunday Cracking weekend down there last November despite the result and the amount of money spent in Temptations on the Saturday night Bookies have us odds on to win and I fully expect 3 points
By the time we play, these three games will be over ... Hull v Sheff Utd Leeds v Burnley Millwall v Luton ... we could be on 15 points, 8 points ahead of the three relegated teams. Madness
Train tickets booked weeks ago, just need a match ticket now. Can’t wait, Cardiff was great but this is the nearest thing to a home game for me.
The match at Watford, on the 28th, is currently building up to be a massive game ... ... they're on 9 points, in third place, and have just lost their first game. It's all interesting stuff.
Can’t wait for that one, all of our group will be there and that doesn’t happen very often these days!
Long shot I know and I open myself up to all of the “oh look at me” comments, but here goes. I am on holiday in Barbados until after this game, does anybody know if any of the sports channels will be showing the game or will I have use the club stream.?
Honestly, at this point Wayne Rooney's Plymouth is starting to just sound silly and they need to just shorten it to Wayne Rooney, much is much easier to say.
This is one game I’d earmarked to go to but sadly I can’t make it. Looks like a cracking weekend away. gonna try for Watford, and then the Luton midweek of the games coming up in the next couple of months. Will probs be crying out for tickets in due course.
Have you not noticed how it’s used all the time here? Spurs are now Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs. Portugal have been Cristian Ronaldo’s Portugal for years now.
I have noticed the Spurs one. Australia is so damn proud of itself and the reporting is so focussed on any Australian aspect of any story, I'm surprised we aren't Lucas Neill's son's Sunderland.
