Whilst I would have preferred another striker if I’m honest - we should also at least give Bedia and Burstow a chance before writing off our striker options. They’ve both played less than a full game after training with the club for less than a week. Out wide and arguably in midfield I’d say we look like we have better depth than last season. Think our quality at 10 is slightly weaker but Carvalho was always going to be tough to replace and Omur, Mehlem and Palmer isn’t bad going. I am not going to pretend I know anything about Puerta and Zambrano - but the 4 CM we have alongside Slater and Simons feels at least on par with Seri/Slater/Morton/Doherty from last year. Obviously with Greaves going we’re weaker at CB but I’m excited to see Hughes. We’ve arguably improved RB and LB remains as it was last year. GK probably improved. All in all, that feels like a decent window to me. Fell at the last with the ‘exciting striker’, but I don’t think it’s as bad as is being made out.
A big game tomorrow, and a whole new day. We’ve bought a whole new team this month, and one, that to me, looks pretty good too. Good night everyone.
Not sure you're aware but you can start a match with multiple strikers or bring them off the bench. Last time I checked the rules you can only play with one keeper. You're so desperate to sink the boot into people making valid criticisms you spout some utter nonsense.
At a wedding out of town so only just tuned in Who was the amazing striker we signe…oh I see Is that really it, or is it a transfer deadline that goes on for a few hours for final deals? No worries. Unlike Chazz I hadn’t seen every game any of them had played anyway so to be fair I’ve no ****ing idea who’s good and who isn’t. I shall go old school and just vocally support the ones we have signed. UTT *yet again left wondering why we’ve sent Oscar away though. Hey ho
Is there still a loan window in the lower leagues? I’m sure there used to be loans outside the window.
I'm not part of the first camp but I think there is a clear difference there. A third choice keeper is very unlikely to play. A third choice striker will almost certainly play.
We’ve spent close to £10m today on two wingers. Whether they turn out to be Philogene equivalents is something we will find out in time. Meffert didn’t happen because we weren’t prepared to pay 1.5M asking price. Given presumably we had budget to still sign a striker, you have to assume that Meffert wasn’t the Rodri that he was built up to be. And if the Brazilian Chelsea loan had been pulled out of the hat at the last minute, there might have been a case to suggest we’d had one of the strongest windows. If we can be around 10th come January, then there will be another opportunity to strengthen and we have a fairly easy run in. Onwards and upwards.
There’s still time to say how **** the players we got are & how we need more keepers. Who we should have signed, numerous, you said, he said arguments. Off topic pieces, General arguments brought up from weeks ago. Finally, there’ll be the, “we won the window,” comments & that’ll start off the, “no we ****ing didn’t,” arguments. Plenty of time to get to 1000 pages!
There should be at least 50 pages arguing about why Page 1 says we signed Rushworth from Swansea, when he’s a Brighton player!
