"Hull City would like to remind supporters that persistent standing is prohibited at the MKM Stadium.

The local authority’s Safety Advisory Group has raised concerns about persistent standing during home games, with the club at risk of severe sanctions, including a reduction in stadium capacity.

Persistent standing in seated areas while play is in progress is strictly forbidden under the ground regulations.

We are determined to avoid the worst-case scenario and politely ask supporters to adhere to the ground regulations to maintain maximum capacity and protect the atmosphere at matches.

Failure to comply may result in ejection from the stadium or a banning order.

The club hopes to avoid such measures and asks for your cooperation in making the MKM Stadium a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for all our supporters."

**** off. Everyone does it. Do they keep demonising their supporters? I very much doubt it!

Although reading again it sounds like it's from the football hating HCC, so they can **** off some more

I’ve seen this statement put out by several clubs, Forest, Plymouth and Stockport as examples, Spurs and Liverpool have actually issued stadium bans to fans who ignored requests to stop persistent standing.

Looks like they’re having a bit of a clampdown at the moment.

Not a stander myself, not by choice but by age. I fail to see if someone has paid for a seat why it is compulsory to sit in it? Its different if by standing you are blocking someone elses view, but if you are in an area where everyone is standing why should you be forced to sit down? Surely you are in that area by choice?
I find the 'protect atmosphere' bit laughable. So now you cannot stand, not to mention the cctv, stewarding and policing measures football supporters aka spectators have to put up with, we also have the ridiculous kick off times, if anything was ever designed to stiffle atmosphere those restrictions would be top of the list. The game is in danger of taking the supporters, those who pay and attend games, not those who sit in the pub or at home watching on the telly, for granted once too often, and once they have gone the game we all love will never be the same again.

Surely to be 'persistent' standing, an individual would have to have been asked to stop and refused. The stewards in the north stand make no attempt to get us to stop standing, so it's not really persistent. It's unchallenged.

If there really is a regulatory issue that could see the club punished, then clearly it is time for safe standing to be installed in the north stand. I can't see another realistic solution. Nagging people to sit will have no effect.

**** off

Not you

Get safe standing in then

Hopefully it’s just a ‘we told you so’ preemptive statement to avoid a claim if some falls over.

Enforced sitting can **** off in the bin next to VAR as far as I’m concerned

All it will take is for 10 or 20 to be identified on cctv maybe even told once or twice to sit down so that covers the persistent standing angle, then hit them with the severest of punishments including a stadium ban then get the publicity machine fired up and the rest of you will all behave like good boys and girls.

As seen in action over recent events this month.

You’re probably right, although at least with a monthly payment arrangement you can just stop going instead anyway.

Football’s ****ed

Surely a role for HDM to publish photos of people committing the heinous crime of having vertical legs in a football ground…

Not just football, everything , makes me feel happy to be as old as I am (now there's a first) and have been able to do the things I have in the past which would be frowned upon today.

Who is having a clampdown though ? Surely the club themselves don't care

Is this the police ?
