Eh? Ian Harte isn’t the reason Ipswich want Clarke.

We can’t blame Ian Harte for premier league clubs wanting a player we all know is premier league quality. This desperation to blame him is getting silly
Prem clubs want him mate, but Harte doesn’t help himself by carrying on like a chebend on Twitter. Think people are right to be dubious.

Players rarely do it as they'll waiver their loyalty bonus lol crazy to think they get paid extra for honouring a contract.

20-25m profit and he'll be pushed out like Henderson was.

You’re right, I think it’s unlikely. All I’m saying is I hope it doesn’t happen.

He doesn’t, no. But we can’t say “oh ffs Harte” every time there’s a story about Clarke.

It’s like people think Ipswich weren’t going to bid for Clarke until Harte pleaded with them to do so.

My fear with Clarke is he goes on strike / hands in transfer request to force move. I know everyone says he’s happy here and he clearly is. But this is modern football.
Exactly this. Clarke might see the fee being reasonable and ask for his shot at the PL. I still think a package reaching 25m and we take it

It needs to be sorted before the weekend to give us a chance of utilising the money on other areas of the squad.

He won't be pushed out and there is no way Henderson was pushed out either imo.

Yeah he wasn't looking for a move and would have happily stayed but he wasn't going to dissapointed and feel forced out going to Liverpool was he?

Clarke won't be digging his heels in wanting to stay if a bid is accepted by a premier league club either!

I think he would be sensible giving it another season and getting interest from comfortable mid to top half prem teams next season as opposed to going to a team very likely to go straight back down.

I think you under estimate Quinns part in that deal. The club was well in the red and they were desperate for the money to give Brucey a transfer budget.

It also shows the ridiculous disparity between the premier league and championship that a team like Ipswich can spend that kind of money and wages on our best player. There's no way anyone should leave safc for Ipswich but money talks unfortunately. He's surely better than Ipswich though

It’s been a while since a player leaving has really hurt but Clarke going will be tough to take. Absolute sickener. Still expect it this window
Won't be a sickner for me. We bought him for pennies, he's been brilliant for us and we've developed him. We'll get our highest ever transfer fee and we can reinvest it into the squad.

I don't think Clarke is going anywhere this window, I think his agent is fishing for prem offers but he won't get them and in the end he'll happily stay with us.
At this stage in the window I’d ask late twenties for Clarke and only sell if we have agreed deals for two quality players. The equivalent quality of Latthe at Boro, Rak Sakyi, or we stick.
