So we have upped the offer for Mendy to between 2-3m euros with add-ons and we are just waiting for Caen to decide. Mendy still wants to come despite interest elsewhere. I think this gets done soon

Listened to their Monday pod for a laugh. Within the first 3 mins of the pod

"Hard to find anything to be negative about" [err....why would you be looking for something negative?]
"need 4 players in because we are really light in central midfield"
"Jobe and Rigg can't play all season, they'll be worn our like Dan Neil was"
"need 2 strikers in because Rusyn isn't good enough"
"huge difference between the 1st and 2nd XIs [think you'll find this is the same for every team apart from Man City]
"Mayenda's goal was good, but it was handed to him on a plate"
"Ekwah was average last season because they flogged him to death"

Literally every positive has a negative spin...
The Madrox days have completely broken them. They see conspiracy and negativity around every corner.

Im not sure if City had a bid in for him but theyve scouted him loads last 2 yrs

He just wanted to play 1st team football, cracking attitude to have
A friend of the family (Alan) was a local scout for City (recently moved to scout for Liverpool) and watched him loads of times from about 3-4 years ago and always gave a knowing smile whenever I asked about him :emoticon-0105-wink:

This is one of our challenges,in my opinion,a significant one. We have a majority of fans, perhaps all, apart from a very few very elderly, who have been raised on a diet of unfulfilled promise and ultimate failure. We all turn up,but we can't escape the worry and anxiety that, even when we're winning, somehow or other we're going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. As a lad who was at Old Trafford in 1964, and at Roker the following Wednesday,I can understand the sentiments. On Sunday, half hour in,we're 3-0 up,the place is like a morgue. We're nervous about Sheff Wed pulling a couple back and then it'll really be game on. It's a curse we have to lose.It only happens at the SoL....away we're dominant....because the expectation isn't the same and we're ready to take over the opponents ground. We have to transport that feeling back to the Sol. I remember Reidy when he was our manager saying that he looked at our opponents in the tunnel at the Sol before they came out,and he knew we would win, because he saw their fear....we need to recreate that again...and for all our hype,at the moment I don't believe we have it.

They love Matty Young as well at City

Not as easy to achieve with a keeper as there is only one spot available, but they will be planning the same as Rigg. Show him that he has every opportunity to progress to first team here!

Look at Rigg the other day, absolutely dominated against blokes nearly twice his age with a decade plus more experience. He looks to be loving life. He could have went to Man Utd been on more money but watch from the bench all season, if he even made the squad. Why would he choose that?

He will play at club competing for leagues and champions leagues eventually, he can afford to wait!

At 3 up, I said to the Mrs, just need one more then I can relax.

Caen won’t want an unhappy player on their books, they’ve stopped him training, they’ve omitted him from the matchday squad and are signing a replacement.

this is getting done soon on news of our increased bid.
