Wouldn’t be me without bringing up a negative after such a brilliant game.. but what’s the reluctance to bring Clarke off, ever? 4-0 up games won why not bring mundle on for the last 20 instead of letting them target Clarke and vent frustration?

Maybe you’re not understanding. For clarity I want a 9 who can score plus a player who can play 9 or 10 and score plus Mayenda who will also score.

As long as we get a centre forward
Then anything else is a bonus

Should be an interesting week this week :emoticon-0103-cool:

Get the mendy deal over the line and we’ll be nearly done, definitely need a RB with pembele seemingly going out on loan
Spent most of the game on his fat arse being “injured”

Ideally I would want 3 specialist strikers in the squad. Plenty of games to swap them around, particularly which one comes off the bench depending on the game situation. If we can start to dominate games at home, give mayenda more starts at home to help him develop. We need a proper quality no 9 for tough away days. Someone who is going to bully defenders, hold the ball up, help us gain territory and bring our best players into the game.

I would want a fourth non-specialist player who can play up top in case of an injury crisis. Jobe perhaps?

No doubt we will bring a 9 in. Can we keep all the starlets this window is the biggest concern for me.

    I agree

however, RLB seems like the kind of bloke who wants to score every minute of every game. High pressing against Cardiff 88th minute while 1-0 up instead of seeing out the game. Pressing the keeper in the 90th minute today 4-0 up

I don’t want any loan signing preventing Mayenda getting time on the pitch, this lad needs developing as a priority.

Virtually every game Clarke is a fantastic outlet at that stage of the match, if he was injury prone I’d agree but he’s a fit young lad so let him entertain us.

Better defensively if you keep the ball up that end

Competition for places will be good for him. I hope we bring in a decent loan striker as well as Mendy

That was comical, size of those two center-halfs, I'd be embarrassed to show my face.

I can see Mayenda doing a Maja this season, without the nashing at Christmas part as he’s on a long contract.

Posted yesterday on page 658 about all of this. Should be translated ?

SM Caen. "An unpleasant situation for all": the Alexandre Mendy case remains pending | Sport in Caen (actu.fr)

At the weekend game there was two players watching their game from the stands and one at least was the Mendy replacement ? Maybe we hear more this week then ?

Again a bit more on their forum . Hope it's translated ? Mind they're no different to us . Suppose that's the nature of it all ? We get a mention as the thread goes along.

Getting Clarke to sign an extended contract would be the signing of the window.

Clarke staying and staying fit or going is probably the difference between mid table and a play off push.

    Clarke staying and adding a good c.forward and it's a promotion push,imo.

Top 6 needs to be a priority. We don't have to play any signings, but we do need options. Leaving ourselves short to "prioritise development" is madness imo. It's a long season and players will be running on empty at times. All it needs is an injury to Mayenda and we're short for the season.

You also have to be careful at cutting off options if you sign 2 strikers there's no way Mayenda gets enough chances it's just not realistic at all
