I've done plenty of Class A's let alone C's over the years so I'm not really in a position to judge him on that, despite obviously thinking he's an idiot for posting it on social media.

Sacking him does the club little favours though.

I just think allowing such indiscipline is not consistent with Ange's philosophy. I would have thought we can retain his registration but suspend him on zero pay or something like that.

Fining would make sense but ultimately despite his inconsistency on the pitch and idiocy off it, we’re going to rely on him throughout the season unless the club signs a top class DM that reduces his role in the squad.

1. If one club is brave enough to do it, then a benchmark is set.

For starters, the media hacks will start attacking in
press conferences any clubs that have players in
kindred positions but do nothing.


2. You can be cynical and do it when the player is far
from key + not really performing (would be a different story
if it was Son etc) .

Funnily enough, this is probably the best outcome. Rules him out of a couple of pointless friendlies and WC qualifiers so he can focus on getting back to his best with us.
