I don't think he's helping himself with some of his comments, but that's awful from Levy.
Skinflint behaviour and doing PR damage that costs the club more than any of this would gain.
Help Pleat out and get him doing the rounds on match days or even working on the Youtube ****e.
He's done plenty for the club and has been around it for a long time. Stupid and shortsighted.

It’s awful by the club, makes them seems soulless and just about the money.

Speaking of money, The Independent are claiming that Beyonce's doing another 5 gigs at the stadium next summer.
They've somehow pitted it as her v Oasis, which makes very little sense.
Hopefully she won't absolutely rinse her fans, either.

It surely can't be about the money...must be something else. I met another of our ex managers in one of the East Stand premium restaurants at the first match at the new stadium. I thought it was a bit odd at first that he was there rather than over in the posh sections in the West Stand but he made a few racist comments later on so perhaps that was why.
Not saying Pleat is guilty of anything but there may be things we don't know about affecting decisions.

It's not the first time that the allegation of "knowing the price of everything, but the value of nothing" has been aimed at Daniel. I've no idea if there's something here or not, but, generally he's thought of as a pretty decent bloke, for a bean counter. He can also be ****ing ruthless and a bit nasty with it - see the departures of 'Arry, BMJ and Crouchie.

It was said that Daniel trusted Pleat's counsel and advice above pretty much anyone else's, so if there's been a falling out, I should imagine that it must have been over something big.

Addendum: Having read the full article, it seems that Pleaty is upset at being seen as being old and obsolete;. Lost his commentating job through 'ageism' and scouting job to a computer programme. It comes to us all, mate. Don't get bitter, you can always get yourself a second hand job.

Makes perfect sense: we're guaranteed there won't be any Mockunians in their fifties within a five mile radius of our stadium

It wouldn't surprise me if it was a publishing issue

One thing that is noticeable is that all of our coffee table books - the WHL one, the Stadium one, the Steve Perryman one, the shirts one and the '61 one - are all published by the same company, which begs the question whether or not we have some kind of exclusivity agreement in place as that could answer the question very quickly indeed

That would explain why they can't sell the book but I doubt it would prevent them giving him an opportunity to market it.

Unfortunately that's been obvious for quite some time now, the fans have had the full brunt of it too.
If you think football isn't about money then you need to look carefully at which clubs do well in every big league. This isn't even new, it's just amplified by the global nature of the game and the increasing disparity between the richer and poorer clubs.

Fans of City, Utd, Liverpool, Bayern, Juve, Inter, Barca etc all pay less to see their clubs than we do for ours.

There's numerous reasons for the difference

The Sheikh Mansour Team are financial cheats
Man Utd and Barca are brands more than football clubs, so could possibly operate without fans in the stadium
Bayern play in a league which have rules on ticket pricing
Man Utd, Liverpool and Barca fill their stands with tourists
Barca fiddled the TV rights in their favour
Juve and Inter play in an utterly broke league

Then there's the obvious question about the average salary in each of those cities and where that compares to London, and I'll hazard a guess that Munich is the only city which comes close to comparing

The issue is when clubs charge ticket prices way above the average, which is why Villa are getting dragged for jacking up the cost of CL tickets because they're flagrantly taking the piss and assume they can get away with it - and that's similar to that Stone roses tribute act getting dragged for what Ticketmaster are charging for the Manchester shows (which the Gallaghers could have avoided entirely if they gave a flying **** about anything other than Noel's divorce settlement) and WWE should have been dragged for their blatant gouging for the show in Glasgow a few months back where they had all the Scottish talent jobbing

And all those clubs are more famous and more successful and so have more commercial income. If we want to catch up someone has to pay for it. It’s actually a good thing if it's the fans rather than dodgy money.
