Would be fair. So far this is a Micheal Beale set up. 1 man going it alone. RLB looks and sounds like he is made of stronger stuff however, IMO we need greater quality in the main man's ear.

Based on what he said at the weekend it sounds like he wants additions but the club started interviewing weeks ago didn’t they?

I’d heard an ex player had been interviewed but dunno how true that is.

I also hear the ‘ex-player’ thing. No clues as to who like.

So far everything has been coming along nicely with the club looking 'together', decent results and the manager being honest about what's happening, what he expects, etc. No need to throw a new man in just to appease supporters who've become fixated on something imo.

No sense upsetting the apple cart ...

It sounded to me like he’s the main person making the decision on his support and he’s happy with what he’s got until they identify someone that can improve things. Nothing wrong with that and if the current set up can produce performances like we did against Marsailles then all is good.

I like the look of the mods in the camp when the club share video. All smiles and they look like a group of pals again.

We had that first season under Mogga it seemed to have gone a little last season. Bodes well.

I mean the season starts in 5 days. It's not exactly common practice is it. Interviews don't take weeks/months.

I think it's a bit of a risk to head into the season with someone who has zero championship experience and no solid number 2 to keep him informed.

Proctor and Dodds are still going to hold prominent voices and places on the front bench at Cardiff. I said at the end of the season this would be the case and got told it wouldn't happen. They need to be in the background with some proper experience assisting RLB.

Agreed. They deserve to be at the club but not so prominent to the first team on match day.

Absolutely. They are not bad coaches but not good enough for the main voice in the ear of the main man. Yet here we are.

RLB isn't going to come out and raise hell is he. But the situation is not ideal from a logical standpoint.

On ex-player I’d heard a couple weeks ago we’d interviewed Defoe. Didn’t know if it was for assistant or another role. Seems like nothing has came of it

Certainly wouldn’t mind a role for someone like Defoe.

Needs do his badged but work with young forwards, great profile and character. People like him can be massive assets to the club.

The bloke wanted someone who knows the English leagues I suppose just for what to expect with who we’re playing etc

Dodds and proctor will be good support for that. From what I can see RLB is very much setting things up himself and seems he likes it that way. He had ‘advisors’ in lorient rather than an out and out assistant

Surely that's up to RLB, he doesn't look the type to be bullied by anyone and unduly influenced.

What would this solid number 2 be informing him about that Dodds and Proctor don't know ...

    ... I'm not being difficult, I just don't know.

He has his own ideas and plans on how to play, surely he won't suddenly change that.

Yeah I know and he was expected to get some sort of advisor or 2 and not a big team on the bench. But that hasn't happened as of yet.

As I said, it appears they are overcomplicating the process and it's dragging out.

Everything a good number 2 does. When the going gets tough, some experience and straight talking is important. Dodds and proctor don't give you that.

It's why mowbray was successful here. He had Venus giving him all sorts of help.

    He wasn't though.

I've no idea what 'all sorts of help' means tbh.
