as i said earlier, you cant really name a greatest single sportsman, or person or whatever but murray was incredible at his peak, you dont win wimbledon twice in his era and not be incredible
After her remarks to Liam Treadwell she's lucky to be working at the BBC. I won't bother with the abridged version. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Definately not, I am polite and will speak to anyone who is kind enough to make conversation with me. But I know what you meant
Michael Phelps... - won a ****load of medals in four consecutive Olympics whilst maintaining a successful alcohol and weed habit. Mind you, he does have genetic characteristics of a fish and doesn't produce lactic acid in his muscles, so could be disqualified from the title of best sportsman.
She was horrible mate. Rang two days before the Broncos first game at Plough lane saying she wanted to come, turned up really late, demanded a seat and meal for her driver and then just spent the whole day up Martin Offiahs arse before leaving again.
That’s just not true. He reached world number 1 in an era dominated by 3 of the greatest to ever play the sport. Not to mention winning three grand slams and 2 Olympic singles (and a silver in doubles). He also took Britain to the Davis Cup win, we’d have had no chance without him. Alongside Nadal, Federer and Djokovic they dominated Semi Finals in Grand Slams for years. He’s basically got no ankles due to physical issues at birth, He’s not competed properly since his hip issues but he’s elongated his career with a metal bloody hip years after he thought he was going to have to retire. He survived a school shooting, cried on tv multiple times, helped many younger players, criticised British tennis for not doing enough, promoted female sport and, yes, I think he’s quite funny. I’m not sure what more he could have done to enter the conversation?
its an interesting discussion thats hard to have without trying to take away from peoples achievements but phelps and biles were basically designed geneitcally for their respective sports when the margins between 1st and 2nd are so small at the elite level, it can be a huge difference maker
I'm happy for him to be in the conversation of best Scottish Athlete of all time, and you make a decent case, but he would not get in the top 10 of British all time greatest sports people. Ronnie O'Sullivan and Phil Taylor ruin him and they are pub sport players.
It's subjective, very few people will agree on the subject. Andy Murray, hardly a bundle of fun but he was one of the greatest tennis players this Country has ever produced.Fred Perry....Mmmmm,his Polo Shirts are too expensive
