IMO if there’s a good / right deal for us for a second striker permanently I wouldn’t be opposed to that at all
strikers, of course we all want one in but people seem to think that 'player A' scored 15 goals last season so we should go get him...if player A does not fit into the way RLB is trying to get our team to play it is pointless to even consider him. 'doing it all on the cheap'... or as i prefer to call it, finding bargains that will fit without throwing stupid money around, which to me suggests if a player comes up that we really want/need then the money will be there. 'have to get rid'...hate that saying, our squad is getting fat so players will leave to make room, some have not quite clicked and i think a parting of ways would benefit both parties and good luck to them. lastly the twice yearly onien debate...yes the lad has mistakes in him as we have all seen but if any of us want to analyse the entire squad we could easily find plenty of mistakes, dan neil/ekwah have lost the ball plenty in the middle which puts the back line into danger (they are not alone) but each one of them brings far more to the squad with plenty of game saving tackles and good passing, in a way i would like to see onien go just so the lad might get a bit of piece but i know the next 'boo boy' would then be chosen and luke can handle that better than one of the young lads.
While we talk about transfers, I often think it’s worth looking back at just how far we have come so I did you’s all the displeasure of having a look at our last lineup the last time we played Bradford in league one. Please don’t read past this line if you don’t want to be very poorly. Jon McLaughlin Adam Matthews - Tom Flanagan - Jack Baldwin - Reece James Chris Maguire - Max Power - Lee Cattermole - Aiden McGeady Jerome Sinclair - Josh Maja. subs. Robin Ruiter Alim Ozturk Bali Mumba Benji Kimpioka Dylan McGeouch Ethan Robson George Honeyman
After seeing that back line I don’t think I’ll ever complain about Luke O’Nien being our centre back again. remember that game against Coventry/Peterbrough at home where Flanagan/Baldwin had an absolute nightmare? then never played together ever again.
Striker with the longest name in the world tortured us too, looked like a 100m sprinter everytime he got going, mind against that centre back pairing most would
Who was the CH played against Portsmouth away and was slower to turn than, well I cant even put it into words, the Titanic would have done him, sent off early second half
Britt Asambolonga? Looked a beast him, went to Boro for a wedge and did nothing if I remember rightly.
