For me it's just the lack of joined up thinking, I am aware that grant money will come with conditions attached, but we end up with oasises of new things and acres of bleakness between them. I thought prinny Quay was planning to turn the ground floor into entertainment, it could be accessed when the shopping is closed. Now they have open a restaurant on level 2 can you even get there at night? and how do they control the people wandering about?
Vue cinema in Prinny Quay is easily accessible till late.
It does sound a bit dangerous people walking around in that building
Could be a Vue to a kill
He he

It's not a classic Hull mentality, it's the mentality of a few that shout louder than most. You'll struggle to find any place in the country that's different. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

I think that’s a fair point, although as someone who has lived outside of the area for a few decades now, I do notice it more when I’m back in Hull, obviously that’s completely anecdotal and my friends might just be miserable twats!

Yeah, went there Thursday evening. Was not expecting much but they managed to do worse.
First glass of prosecco (not my drink ) was flat, replacement was warm.
Ordered some small dishes (a few on the menu not available) and some chips. Waitress came back a few minutes later to say they'd run out of chips!
Food very average or poor.
Bill came with a charge for a bottle of prosecco instead of a glass, barely an apology.
Most of all though, a lot of staff but they could only do one thing so if you wanted anything else they had to get someone else over, ... eventually.
Just a really poor execution of an idea.

Sadly another beyond poor experience,, lots not available on the menu, anything with 'breadcrumbs' not available as they had run out! unfortunately too near the very good singer, possibly why there were so many errors on the food and drinks, ultimately though the reason we had to leave before finishing the food was some very undercooked food (they'd also managed to overcook another dish) - manager came eventually and rather than apologise initially kept explaining how it was 'fresh and temperature tested' (tasted / looked off). Asked for the bill and only charged for drinks ( though at that point my daughters and wife didn't trust eating any more..)
Will never go back and would advise a large swerve for others...

What did they undercook ?

Picked up our tickets for Newcastle earlier and I noticed they've had the paint tin out at the MKM, all the turnstiles and exit doors are now painted black. On the way in I also noticed that the old Charleston Club site has a new building going up, and at long last there's work going on on the old West Park Hotel, extensive work by the looks of it. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

Good to hear about the painting at the stadium. It's been a long-standing complaint so it's good that Acun and the gang are on it. If the black has replaced some of the council blue then that's good too, making it look a bit more City (and FC too obviously).

Went last night with the family, and we must have got lucky because we all really liked it.
Food was tasty and well presented, service was good (not great, but good) - yeah, a couple of the items weren't available (strangley bread was one of them) but there was plenty of other things to choose from.If they haven't been open long they may just have supplier problems or haven't worked out how busy they will be yet.
£300 including drinks and tip for 7 adults - not the cheapest but I don't want a pizza from Wetherspoons every time.
I thought the Butcher Block was quite good value TBH, £32 and would have been enough on it to feed one very hungry person or 2 for a light meal.

As I said, maybe I got lucky or others on here got unlucky. Time will tell.

Looking at the reviews of it on Google reviews, does seem very hit and miss (some of the (many) 5 star ones are a bit too gushing) - especially if looking at latest reviews and back.
Glad you had a good time - we also went yesterday...

Was probably close to your table then as we were next to the singer.

I saw the Moody Blues & Harmony Grass at the Charleston club back in the day, fond memories.
