Did you even read what you replied to? Presidents have little power in internal politics - which you should know with your obsession with US politics. I didn’t say Trump was a fan of Project 2025, but that doesn’t mean these issues are not core to Republican politics.
Tin hat response, bud. Scientists are in it because they love unravelling the secrets of life. If a scientist could find proof another scientist was wrong they are gleeful in their attempts to do so - because it means they are innovating and moving forward. Only idiots don’t understand that the vast majority of scientists are apolitical in their science. Also, millions of people did die from Covid. Between 1-3 milllion people. That is a lot of dead people. The phrase ‘climate hysteria’ is pretty indicative of your level of thought on the climate. Your kids will have a pretty ****ty time if the world joins you in that attitude.
Which ever way you lean politically, there has been a load of poppycock on here recently. From not enough testosterone making you weak to universities being bad for innovation. I suppose rather than getting worked up by the absolute bollocks being spouted, I should just smile and move on.
My ex still works in the care home where 13 of her residents died in one week. From Covid. From Covid, Os, you impenetrable buffoon.
A short video by James O’Brien about the 5 year jail sentences handed out to peaceful protestors. Worth noting that the judge, Christopher Hehir, had previously NOT jailed a police officer found guilty of raping a woman. He called it an “act of mercy” to the officer, completely disregarding the feelings and hurt of the victim. The guy is completely out of touch. The police officer was later jailed at a sentence review, being given just ELEVEN months.
He never ever does. Which is the real reason he is called a troll on here. Not because people have the nerve to disagree with what he has been told to believe by the people he follows online
And Twitter. Don’t forget Twitter. But only now that Elon has liberated it. Before that Twitter was wrong. Wrong I tells you. All biased and woke
There is the Dublin treaty which we were part of pre brexshit whereby illegal immigrants could be returned. Another ****ing triumph (© Vin)
No, they’re not “harming education”, that’s obviously not what I said at all. Many universities provide fantastic education. (Some courses are ridiculous and are merely just cash cows but that’s a diff topic). But one of the big cons is that they promote groupthink massively. The prevailing narratives get pushed and amplified Ironically very similar to an internet forum echo chamber that you joked about. Even if there is a scientist out there that conclusively proved humans aren’t causing climate change, their voice would be ignored with the way things are now.
This is a lie. Or really stupid. Your self-delusion goes so deep that you have to ignore a vast logic chain to get to your position. You believe universities promote groupthink. Ergo you believe universities discourage independent thought. Even if unis did not have ‘promote discussion of opposing points of view’ for their accreditation, we must then also assume that all these bright people coming together in academic spaces are all ‘sheeple’ - and not inclined to challenge the status quo. Yet through modern history the uni is the home of divergent thought. It is the breeding ground for radical ideas. In fact, not so long ago climate change was a radical idea- one challenged and fought over in universities. Therefore, to be correct your idea must require universities to have changed for the worse over the last 30 years. Or perhaps you believe that universities are breeding grounds of liberal views? Does that mean the more we know about the world, the more left wing we become or are we simply being brainwashed by your liberal elite? To be true, all your right-wing thought leaders must have avoided university education? Name three books you have read which oppose your world view. Then ask any student to name three books they have had to read which they disagree with. I am guessing the students have a much more nuanced range of views to draw from.
But you did. Read it back, that is exactly what you implied. You implied that basically by encouraging students to be inquisitive and try and look through problems together it is an issue. Words fail me. Have you ever heard about the scientific method? It has been the under pinning of science and all discoveries for hundreds of years. It is used by scientists to explicitly exclude what you are saying. I promised not to answer or rise to your comments. I think I will leave it here as life is too short.
