£7m is definitely too low but I think it’s not as far off as many would hope. Not many championship clubs are turning down £10m+ offers for right backs. I think £12-14m might be acceptable.
It's absolutely remarkable how much they've increased the value of the squad. Yeah, we've essentially had to take a season off, but my word we could have a canny pot of cash ready for when we make a push
Quality is there for all to see. Does he have the mentality to be trusted? I am not so sure. Speaking as a coach I would find ir hard to pick him regularly as I am not convinces he ia committed to the physical side of the game. I am not even talking about thunderous tackles, but competing for headers, putting it all in to get back behind the ball. Just think there are occasions when he switches off.
It is, but there is the slight caveat of big sell on clauses due with a lot of players. Rumoured 35% for Ekwah etc.
I like Ekwah , he ‘could’ turn into a very good player but if we had to lose one player this summer for a decent wedge of money I think we’d miss him going the least.
Agreed. With Brown coming in, he is likely to be benched. We won't be in a position where we are turning down best part of 10 million for players sitting on the sidelines. But again, the fees paid back to former clubs will play a massive factor in all of this.
I like Ekwah, but he's probably our most disposable midfielder atm. Sell Ekwah, Matete and Embo. It would leave us with Neil, Browne, Rigg, Jobe and AA. Jobe and AA for the 10, so we'd have room for another good cm. We also need to make way for Riggs development, aswell as Jobes. Sadly that probably means the above need to move on. Also for context, Matty Cash went to Villa, 4 years ago, for circa 14 mill. Hume would command that much I reckon. I think Hume is class but apparently Pembele is exactly the type of full back Le Bris likes. If we held onto Clarke, but sold Hume and Ekwah to fund other areas I think I'd be OK with that tbh.
That is a bit of a conundrum in my opinion. I suspect £7m is being floated to smoke out other suitors. I have a feeling he is a player the club may think we already have the replacement for in Pembele. Then we have Huggins whenever he returns. I do like Trai, but he is probably more easily replacable with a prem loan to supplement Pembele / Huggins. My feeling would be get closer to £9m and we might do some business.
Snap . Yeah I agree. I could see Hume moving on tbh. I love him as a player but he needs to fit into how Le Bris wants to play. Like it or not, we're going to have to sell players soon, at least 1 bigger player, then the deadwood.
Yeah but we'll still be making a good profit. Even if its only 60% of the fee. The fact we paid little to nothing for some of these guys is a clever move
