So, the Striker and Right back who were slated (where has that word come from these days?!) to sign on Wednesday haven't been signed, yet, but we are closing in on the signing of a 32 y.o. striker on a 3 year deal. Yet another player is rumoured to be leaving; not a massive loss if it happens but a dependable back up none the less and meaning yet another one to replace. First pre-season friendly tomorrow (correction from today), and summer training camp near half way over. Not panicking yet, but it's starting to test my resilience! Edit: fact checked. He's only 31. Phew. Edit to the edit: 32 by the time the season starts. Damn.
Been on holiday so looked at page one to check on our transfer activity. 1 in and 15 out . Going well then
Walter on Oscar and Glatzel similarities. Don’t show Kalman "And at the end, he's there to score and that's what he prefers. He said to me, 'Oh, that's my style, that's my style.' I showed him a lot of clips from my former clubs (Robert Glatzel) and he liked it and he said it's my style and I said, I know it's your style, that's the reason why you have to come back."
I’m not sure where this idea that Walter likes strikers that press loads and link play in midfield has come from. I would say it’s the opposite, he likes out and out finishers to be in the box to finish the move and stick it in the net. I’d say Moore and Estupinan are a perfect fit, it’s almost like the club are listening to his requirements.
It comes from watching Hamburg, Glatzel has far more about his game, technique, more ability to link play and did so, I've not seen anyone suggest thats in midfield though. However, that doesn't mean it's what Tim wants or sees as necessary for the role.
