Chaplin at Ipswich would be great... he's a nasty b******, which is what we've been missing for eons... always niggling at the referee...

In acun’s interview he refers to Oscar as a good signing, yet he’s been away as long as he’s been here. His first loan club let him go and now he’s mostly warming a bench in brazil. We’ve got no striker and there’s no real talk of him coming back….good signing ?

If I didn't know better I'd say this is a scorched earth policy before the owner completes his retreat to Turkey. He thinks the odds are stacked against him making an instant impact with FFP and he's probably right. He's obviously clearing the decks, hopefully he'll have learnt from his mistakes and will recruit a winning team. I believe he can achieve everyone's dream and he should be given the support and time he deserves from the fans. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new player coming from one of the smaller Euro 2024 teams to calm things down a little.

What I really don’t like about this ‘if the player wants to leave, we will let them leave’ thing Acun constantly repeats is that it sends a message to our players and any potential players that contracts don’t actually matter if you just tell the chairman nicely you want to go and we’ll accept a bid below our estimation than if the player didn’t say he wanted to go.

Do you think Daniel Levy just rolled over and accepted lower bids for Harry Kane simply because Kane wanted to move elsewhere? Kane actually tried to push a move a few years ago and Levy said ‘he’s going ****ing nowhere until you meet our valuation’.

Acun needs to realise he’s chairman of a football club, not chairman of the PFA, and the interests of the club should be more important than the whims and wishes of players under contract. Whilst it’s great personally for Tufan, Greaves, Philogene and **** knows who else that they got their ideal moves this summer, where does that leave us? We’re in the **** right now as we have so few players and have to scramble a squad together and bed them in before our first game of the season.

Good analogy but we need to replace the steak, the chips, the peas, the mushrooms, the bearnaise sauce, the salt, the pepper and some ****er has put in a bid for the ****ing frying pan. Oh and it tea time in 10 minutes and the new chef only cooks curry in hurry.

On the other hand, its probably a good message for potential new signings to hear though, along with loan clubs and agents etc. They will be happier moving to us, knowing that the club won't stand in their way if a bigger club comes in. Player gets the move he deserves, agent gets pockets lined, loan clubs get a more valuable asset at a club where the chairman appears to care for the players etc. It also may help us get deals like Abdus over the line, where the selling club get a hefty sell on in return for a low transfer fee.

I'm not being difficult, I am just trying to show the other side of his tactic.

It looks like we're also getting north of £40m plus sell ons for Greaves and Jaden which is not exactly way below market value even though he's saying they can leave.

I do find the Giles transfer utterly bizarre though, especially when we aren't making a profit.

If Boro were willing to pay what we paid, then Luton would have accepted that rather than impose the obligation as it would have made no difference to them. If they were willing to pay more, then it would have been to their advantage to do that.

What if we were committed to the Giles transfer regardless , but then were happy to move him on at no profit because we didn’t want him ? God knows on here the nay sayers were about 60/40 about him not performing .

But surely if we had an obligation to buy at a price..even if they offered 10 mill to Luton he would still have come here for 4 mill. Is that how it works? I'm really guessing what looks like.
