If you have a world class player like him you fit him into the system to get the best out of him

He can play RM or bellingham can play deeper

The boy is class and walks into every international team

England are too slow and safe which doesnt play into his strengths, foden plays the game at a high tempo - the issue is england dont play to that

Foden won player of the yr last yr, and deservely so - england need him to win the euros imo

I'm a bit puzzled by this but I might be a little too cynical as I don't know the situation as well as you.

I'm just surprised that we've taken a player who may have missed a knockout game, or was the exact date always known.

I know birth days are more precise than they used to be.

Saka is the only player who's been consistently decent. So it's got to be between Foden and Bellingham, or we have to change the system and we know that's not happening.

It doesn't matter what he's won or how good he looks for man city. There are more consistent players for England in his preferred positions and he can't adapt to being out of position.

Top quality sub or below par left sided attacker.

Saka was good for 25 mins against serbia n that was it

It does matter tho when they are world class, foden is an unreal talent and thr key to England's success is getting the best out of him

Foden hasnt hit the heights for England that most thought but hes still a world class player that you try to get the best out of

Thats my opinion on it anyway

He's just done a 'Chopra' there ffs <doh>

BTW if the tosser with the laser, who's targeting De Bruyne, was next to me I'd ask him to quit once and punch him in the side of his head if he didn't ...

... what kind of idiot would want to cheat to progress in a sporting competition ffs <doh>

Got a few Belgian mates who dismissed me and I said they’ll be heading straight out when they come up against a half decent team after their performance against Romania.. they’re lucky not to be behind here. Ukraine been good last 20 minutes

Not often, if ever, do I agree with Shearer, but he’s right in terms of this third round of group games, a lot of tight cagey games.

If you think Southgate can magically flick a switch and get his team playing a completely different style to what we've seen since he qualified, not just the last three games then you've got a hell of a lot more faith in him than I have.

I don't think that at all mate. What I'm saying is I'd like to think that the group stage was him playing the numbers to make sure we got out of the group. If he can't get a tune out of this squad for the knockouts, he deserves all the anger that everyone is entitled to aim. Time will tell, I think we're set up to have better teams coming onto us, open the play up. Who knows. We seem to have the handbrake on. He has nothing to loose now you'd think he would go for it.But, this how we've played under him during his tenure, but this is the first time the media have really went after him about the somewhat negative play.
