We've played a bit better but overall this is exactly the same as the last 2 games. Very unimpressed.
I think that's the best formation we can play with these players. The only thing that may stop us is the left hand side, dunno if Gordon or Eze could play LWB
Leif Davis would have been the really exciting choice. I'll settle for Gomez second half. Trippier is not the only problem though, with the exception of Foden, none of our attack is doing much.
I called Steve Clarke naive but this is just as bad. Look at both Trippier and Fodens body position when they receive the ball. It's back infield! Slovenia are getting praise for being solid but a sunday league team can defend half a field. Foden looks better but look at where his best work is coming from, the left half space which is where Jude, Trippier and then Kane for some reason are also occupying. When Stones, Guehi and Rice have the ball they keep going to play it left but have to check back on themselves because NOBODY IS THERE. Thats why we look so slow, because the players on the ball have no options because we've made the pitch so narrow. Self inflicted ****e.
100%. Gallagher isn’t my favourite player but his game is energy and all action playing like a robot. This is definitely all tactical. He’s absolutely terrified to let them loose Safety first all the time absolutely ****e
