Hey @Scout73 I have a challenge for you.

Give us a short list of players that fit these parameters who could be a good signing:

Age: 16-22
Position: Striker
Height: 180cms and up
At least 30 first team games
At least 10 first team goals
Has lived/played in Britain
Available for under £1.5m

How long is he looking for the current injury? I assumed he wasn't due back for a while anyone remember?

I wouldn't sell him, don't think we would get much anyway I'd gamble on him being a bit more fortunate from now on! Very good player in there just needs a bit of luck to stay injury free at least bad injury free for a few seasons!

Ali Al-Hamadi from Ipswich fits this.. apart from the budget, unless he was loaned in.

Miles Leaburn for Charlton. Was very highly rated last year after scoring 12 goals in 35 games.
Only 20 years old but had a bad injury last year where he needed surgery on his hamstring so will be a risk.
Last year of his contract this season, so will be under £1m with a good sell on clause you’d think.

I was thinking that but he’s in the last year of his deal and Charlton seem to usually have financial struggles. Not to mention he missed half of the season last year.

I reckon £1m with a 15% sell on could do it.

Kion Etete. Don't think he's very good but fits all the criteria.

I think we should be spending upwards to 5m or more on a striker this summer. They come at a premium and we can't keep ****ing about with it, we need a decent striker

Sounds more like a miracle, not a challenge... unless you're talking about League Two.

Any striker in Britain who has scored 10 goals at that age will be costing more than £1.5m. Unless of course you manipulate the stats and find someone who has scored 10 in 100 or something like that.

that Theo Bair would be canny as an option. Someone on RTG reckoned we have him signed for 1.5m

100% ali al hamadi went to Ipswich for 1.5m and he was only scoring in L2 and L1

(Which btw he is available for loan this summer)

Two key things to note.

*good signing is open to interpretation, but a sh!te player is a sh!te player so would not make the grade.

Played/lived in Britain obviously includes the Scottish system and lived could mean they came through or spent some time at a British academy. It doesn't mean they need to have played 30 games in a first team here. Looking forward to seeing what Scout can come up with.
