I appreciate your interest in how RLB set out his stall at Lorient, but they have different players to us. So what may work for them doesn’t necessarily mean it will work with what we have.

Carbon dated to be over 100,000 years old, and built from exotic metallic elements not naturally found on Earth, the monolith is inscribed with a series of messages from the time of its creation. Many of the messages are indecipherable, written in a complex visual language that has baffled the world’s leading scientists and linguists. But atop one side of the monolith that faces toward the North East is a short but poignant message in recognizable Indo-European script…… “Regis le Bris, 2024, you saw it here first. PS. **** The Mags”
Hopefully he's on gardening leave. There's a lot of groundwork could be done between now and the 1st.
Glad to see that we’ve got a head coach sorted, easy to be negative these days but I for one am excited and optimistic about RLB. Hopefully we now back him in the transfer market and we’ll have a good season
All the players need to present and put through the medical examinations the club will have to do before the manager gets involved. In the meantime there's lots he can be doing with the coaches and other staff. I'd hope he's already involved with the 'wish list' of players we could sign or loan, not to mention which players can be loaned out. After all this time I don't think anything needs to be rushed.
My point was he was adapting his game plans depending on who he was playing. Thats a good sign for a coach, not stuck to.1 way of playing which should mean he will fit the system to the players hes got available From what i saw of how his team plays i think it suits the players we have currently
Cheers mate. Watched a bit of them yesterday. The lack of high press was surprising at first. But what I did notice was the energy in the team constant movement when they passed around at the back looking to create options and when they attacked they were rapid. Didn’t seem too bothered about opposition having the ball and creating chances so we will have to be patient. Having read a bit more about his ideas seems similar outlook to McKenna at Ipswich. Both say they set the team out to beat that weekends opposition which sounds obvious but means you have to be fluid with your tactics Looking forward to the season now hopefully he brings the excitement back. have you heard anything about the back room staff he may be bringing
I really like the sound of somebody with tactical flexibility. he sounds like a proper natural successor to Mowbray tbh.
As I mentioned the other day in the 22/23 season only one team in ligue 1 attempted less long balls than Lorient - that was PSG. Looking across the data he done a very good job with what he had to work with so hopefully coming here with a squad that’s decent for the level we’re at will be of benefit to the style he’s trying to play and the players will flourish under a manager with clear instructions of how we’re to play.
I think if we had managed to poach him in January he would have been seen by everyone as a bit of a coup the perfect fit to develop TMs style of play The relegation has put doubts in peoples minds but I think he seems a good character and I back him to get the fans on board
Sorry to put a dampener on but this makes less good reading. I really hope we’ve uncovered a gem and I’m excited for the season. Just naturally a bit nervous about it. https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2024/feature-what-can-sunderland-expect-from-regis-le-bris/
