It was quite strange how, all of a sudden, Johnson changed people's perceptions and values.
The more he lied, cheated on his wives/girlfriends, sponged money from some and dished out money to others ...
... the more some people seemed to admire him.
I thought then, and still do, that some people would love to be like him instead of plodding through humdrum jobs and having to toe the line with the boss at work and the wife at home. Johnson just laughed everything off, blamed everyone else and ignored anything that was too difficult for him ...
... not to mention the endless dressing up like he was just a character in a play wot he'd rote

Goes back way before Boris in my opinion. He may well be a terrible PM, but littering and anti-social behaviour etc has been a problem way before we had him front and centre.
Labour have cracking down on anti social behaviour as one of the first 6 steps / pledges. Yvette Cooper been the architect of policy I believe. Hope it is better than ASBOs were, although they werent all bad.
Clamping down is worthwhile, so long as the penalty is meaningful. Take driving in bus lanes, parking in disabled / mothrr baby bays. Fine and points on the licence. It is the points on the licence that will change behavior, and the fine can fix a pothole.
I'd put money on that crackdown 'infringing human rights'....
See if they crack down in Birmingham and Bradford where their biggest supporters are
Apologies, didn't explain myself well. I have definitely seen a remarkable increase in antisocial behaviour, of the sorts I mentioned, since Boris's misbehaving. This hoying litter out of your car as you pull away in particular.

I don't mind him, he rallied against Blair and the invasion of Iraq back in the day when many were towing the line. He's a big whacky but otherwise an honest actor.

I don't want to turn this into the Farage thread and again, I know he isn't popular with many on here, but plenty of information can be gleaned from this tweet if you're willing to take from it.
Farage, for whatever you think he is at heart, is able to connect with working class people in a way that Rishi Sunak never, ever could dream of. Imagine Sunak in a pub like this around these people, laughable. If you're a disengaged bloke from a place like Sunderland with no strong political opinions, seeing something like this is basically saying, "people like me, like Farage". Simple ingroup dynamics.
Again, I don't want to make this the Farage thread, but it just seems like some are not quite getting it.

I’m actually looking forward to him speaking in the commons. I had been following him closely in the EU parliament for a number of years and I was always impressed with the way he was able to deliver his point that connected with people. There’s not many politicians can do that.
He’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the 2029 election and no amount of belittling him is going to change that.

In an email, seen by the BBC, an individual claims that stamps bought on expenses were passed to UK election candidates for campaigning activities, such as sending letters to voters.
The anonymous complaint was submitted to Holyrood's presiding officer Alison Johnstone.
The Scottish Parliament said it was investigating the matter to establish whether there had been any misuse of parliamentary resources.
BBC Scotland News has also seen a screenshot from a WhatsApp group, made up of staff who work for SNP MSPs, where there is a discussion about whether or not the stamps can be traced back to the purchaser.
