I can't stand Farage. I ****ing loathe the ****. There are few places in the world I would like to be in less than that pub in that moment. I can practically smell the lynx body spray and the erectile disfunction medicine from 10,000 miles away.

But I agree with what Alco is saying to an extent. Farage at very least pretends to understand and represent a segment of society. Sunak and Starmer represent no one. They represent their parties, sure. They represent a vague, difficult to understand and quite abstract vision they have for the country but they will put away once elected.

The main parties would be well served taking a lesson from Farage, he has a vision and he will stand by that vision. I applaud him for having the nerve to put his flag in the ground and say this is what I am, this is what I stand for.

It's a shame that I find him and his vision grotesque.

The SNP somehow managing to keep up with the Tories for sleeze and abusing their power.


The SNP is being investigated by Scottish Parliament authorities over the potential misuse of postage stamps bought using MSPs' expenses.

In an email, seen by the BBC, an individual claims that stamps bought on expenses were passed to UK election candidates for campaigning activities, such as sending letters to voters.

The anonymous complaint was submitted to Holyrood's presiding officer Alison Johnstone.

The Scottish Parliament said it was investigating the matter to establish whether there had been any misuse of parliamentary resources.

BBC Scotland News has also seen a screenshot from a WhatsApp group, made up of staff who work for SNP MSPs, where there is a discussion about whether or not the stamps can be traced back to the purchaser.

That has to be the worst abuse of power I’ve ever seen.

I've long said we have no good politicians left, no honest to god people with strong convictions, willing to be honest and go against the grain and speak well doing it, I didn't mind the SNP and Welsh bloke on those GE panels a couple of weeks back, I could see potential there but I hated their policies.

I've long said we have no good politicians left, no honest to god people with strong convictions, willing to be honest and go against the grain and speak well doing it, I didn't mind the SNP and Welsh bloke on those GE panels a couple of weeks back, I could see potential there but I hated their policies.

People don't stand for much other than self-interest and personal wealth generation nowadays, top to bottom.

I had to Google to find out we have 7 candidates. Never heard of any of them , know nothing about them , whether they are constituency born etc. No leaflets , no posters in windows and certainly no door knock . How can they expect our support .

The recent by election we had 8 leaflets from Labour alone and a knock on the door.

He floundered at one point when he made some comment about it being bad that politicians wouldn't put timescales to their promises and was then almost immediately asked to give a timescale on something he was promising (I think it was about NHS waiting lists), and then tried his best to not give an answer. I think he struggled too with the question about him having said Corbyn would make a great PM. When he realises that he's in a sticky spot like that, he just looks like a scared rabbit in the headlights.

I'd put money on Farage jumping to the Tories in the next couple of years. He is absolutely incendiary and his comments about Putin show this.

I'd gladly take an uninspiring, boring leader at this current time as we need someone to settle the markets and get us back on the rails rather than come up with grand ideas. I absolutely despise the debates mind, nobody can put a time scale on the NHS or controlling immigration as there are too many moving parts.

Sadly I don't think there's an easy fix nor any real stability on the cards in the next few years, a boring leader for calmness now will look like inactive and useless 18 months into his tenure.

I don't tbh, I think he's pretending to be like those people.

And I doubt he'd be with other normal people who don't support him tbh ...

... not all football supporters in pubs are Farage fans.

There was someone on the Jeremy Vine phone in who really excited about Farage running for election mainly because of 'the boats'. When they were asked what his solution was the response was "Errr ...." When they were pressed they said that Farage would bring back 'the Boris factor' and put some entertainment back into politics.

That's fair enough, it's democracy and everyone is entitled to their opinion, whatever that may be.
