What a shame we didn't get to see Ross Stewart representing Sunderland tonight ... ... would've been quite a moment.
Scotland keep on playing backwards, but playing it so poorly. Calmness needed. But that strike is magic. I could watch that again and again. Technically 100% perfect.
Think the Scott's need to play without a right-back, that's don't pass it to Ralston and cover his zone as they are running free through it...
Scotlands lack anyone that can carry the ball forward or a player that can receive the ball high up the pitch in tight areas is killing them. It's leading to them passing backwards constantly and they've given away a goal and a couple of corners from that.
Just my opinion but I think they should stop trying to play football and treat it as a 3rd round FA Cup tie ... ... mass defence, launch it forward and pile in. Scotland won't win this by playing 'better' football than the Swiss ... they need to make the game a real mess.
Would definitely make them more of a threat on the counter attack than they are now. Was more thinking in terms of a winger or attacking midfielder though, they have 4 central midfielders on the pitch and I think they could do away with at least one of them for someone with a bit more technical ability.
Was disappointed Ben Doak didn't get into the final squad. He's not a winger but Stuart Armstrong would add something different.
