This is what pisses me off more than anything. United and Arsenal have outspent City by a long shot lately but instead of trying to work on their own failures they just point the finger at City because they’ve potentially breached FFP a decade ago. Boring **** crack. How anyone thinks it’s fair for United to be allowed to continually outspend everyone because they pumped loads of money in before FFP was a thing is beyond me.

Yeah the rules are just utterly ridiculous. They don't work and they're not fair.

Sick of hearing about them to be honest.

Agree completely. The Premier League is in real danger of killing its' golden goose. If they're not very careful, things will start to unravel.

I just don't understand who the rules in their current form serve other than Man United when they inevitably get their **** together.

Same with parachute parachute payments, another absolutely stupid idea that has a really harmful effect on the game.

Would take Dion back if that's who he is talking about.

Don't see it as a particularly needle moving signing but good for depth in a position we are thin and have constant injuries.
Yeah I wouldn’t twist at the return of Sanderson, as long as it was a low fee.

Reports in the Netherlands that Pascal Jansen arriving at Sunderland could accelerate the possible transfer of Ar'jany Martha.

[HASHTAG]#SAFC[/HASHTAG] have an interest in the 20-year-old winger who's set to leave Ajax as a free agent this summer.

Martha has been playing LB, is he really what we need? Cirkin, Alese, Hjelde… I know Speakman doesn’t really care about what is required and looks for value so this could have legs.

Obscene remuneration at the top end, average of nearly £11m per year? People say footballers careers are short and they need to earn as much as they can whilst they can but with an average UK wage earner, it would take 50 years (at the current rate), an entire working life for most, to earn what the 'average' Man City player earns in 2 months.
I don't begrudge these players earning a hefty salary but when De Bruyne talks about going to Saudi, and says that he can earn more there in 3 years than he has made so far in his playing career, and bear in mind he will be well above the average of £11m per year an Man City, that is frankly obscene.
If wages were capped at £1m per year (joke) the players would still earn more than 99% of the UK population.
Grumpy old git's rant over. Just to say, it's not jealousy on my part, I'm comfortable.

Agreed, but they do pay 60% tax and a fortune in NI, and I think the Saudi thing is ‘setup my entire bloodline for all eternity’

The way I look at it is I’ve moved jobs and industries a few times for better pay.
