I agree completely. I think we are being incredibly naive and our Head of PR/Communications/Brand Engagement or whatever it is called nowadays, if we have one, is not doing a good job at all.

We're seemingly on the back foot and lacking drive.

That could be wrong but it's their job to make us believe that and I'm not seeing that at all. No relationship with the press, no means of dampening disquiet on social media, and a growing disability to read their customer base.

A lot of the business is moving forwards and modernising at an astonishing rate. But not the PR. It's practically mid 20th century.

Like I said was not stuck on his style with Hull but If he was to be appointed would be 100% behind him. My opinion was based around his set up at Hull and if he is a good coach he will be sble to adapt to the skill set of the players he has, but my worry is that a lot of the younger British coaches all seem to be adopting a certain style of play which is very similar to the style that Gareth Southgate likes to play with England and my worry is that a lot of these young and upcoming managers are taken under the wing at St George's Park on FA courses and this could be influencing how they choose to set up teams. Only my opinion of course but a lot do seem to favour the defensive possession approach which gives me some concerns.

They are in a no win position of their own making there.

Say something and it looks reactionary. Say nothing and it looks absolutely feckless.

I don’t think we will. I think they’ve communicated their stance on what happened with him with the leaks to Roker Report and Craig Hope on Friday. It’s just the fanbase has whipped itself up into a frenzy that it could be back on despite nothing to really support that.

It’s their policy not to officially comment on any speculation. Kind of ties into my point about optics and expectation management above.

He got a injury very young which meant he couldnt play. He set himself some very demanding targets in order to avhieve his coaching ambitions. One was to get his pro licence by age 35, which he did. He was youngest to do it at the time too and it made quite a story. He stated his main ambition was to manage in the premier league. Like I said this was a long time ago, but given his family I suspect it remains. I would like to think he and us would be a great fit personally, having the same goal of premier league football. He fits in another way, which for me is a real priority, he invests in the academy and brings players into the first team environment early.

In my opinion he is a good fit. But I also really like Maric and I think Rosenior could be really really good for us. I would be happy with any of them.

I wasn’t really bothered about Still and would have been happy, now I’d be suspicious of him. Not exactly the behaviour you get from someone who would be stable and in it for the duration. He verbally agreed to come by all accounts and now his agent is hawking him around. I always wanted Rosenior and I think we could have had him in place. Not saying Still wouldn’t do well or I’d kick off but not sure why everyone’s skipping when I relative know nowt about him. We do need someone to start quality checking our first team transfer options.

I would love Jansen but still see no actual credible link, anywhere.

Nixon said it, but in response to somebody asking him. He was covering all bases.

What’s your thought process with Rosenior? Not having a go, just a genuine question.

What makes you think there’s anything in Jansen? Not having a go but I’ve not even seen any ‘ITK’s say there’s owt in it.

Here and there. Just had a bit of a digital detox to be honest. Stayed of message boards for a couple of years. Thing is this head coach malarkey has reeled me back in.

I don’t really don’t know what to make of the situation,we need something to lift the fan base get us excited instead of the angst a lot are feeling. The club seem to be in the dammed if you do dammed if you don’t phase

Think they both said "understood" that we made contact with him, again covering all bases.

Sorry to be a pessimist but I'm not believing we are in for him until an actual journalist or trusted ITK says we actually are, rather than them just commenting on social media frenzy

A good managerial appointment and some intent in the transfer window would certainly do that, not some of the same old we’ve seen over the last year or so.

I know some people at Hull really well. All coaches some in the club, not first team level and an ex player. I’m heading there today. They all like him, all rate him . Think the team are well coached, one thinks the best ever and they think he’s really savvy. A couple are fans but run community projects, others watch every game and are good at what they do and I trust their opinion. Also a proper nice bloke apparently.

TheEcho piece was literally reporting that Nixon had tweeted about it. Unfortunately I think it’s all just wishful thinking. Desperately hope I’m wrong.

Lens accelerates the signing of Will Still. Once Franck Haise's departure has been formalized, the northern team intensifies negotiations for the Belgian coach. He is not signed yet, but there is optimism in the club to sign him.
