That's it for me. Lots of people are focusing on football style and I get that but I'm thinking more about points on the board at this stage.

It depends on the squad we start with, if it's so strong I feel like I could coach us to mid table then an idealistic coach would be great, if it's very similar to what how we finished last season with a few unproven young players added, I'd be worried about relegation with someone green in charge. I'd include Still in that.
Can we get more certainty ??? We have had manager in our recent past who have been experienced and have been terrible so certainty is an odd term to use.
Look at Moyes or Coleman or even in L1 we had Parkinson all of which should have offered some level of professionalism but in truth were not very good. I think I am shifting more away from the run of the mill passengers on the management merry go round and hoping for a HC to attack the job with some new ideas and some excitement and vigor to re-energise the squad and bring some confidence back as I believe that is what we lacked this season. Luckily it is not my job to find that but I do think the safe pair of hands can be a bit deflating when their are options out there who may well move us forward.

Do all the other clubs up and down the country do it ?
Most other clubs don’t take this long to appoint anyone good or bad, Nig. I was making a point that just because you make an appointment sooner, it doesn’t make them ****, like making a late appointment doesn’t make them good. They could take their time and still appoint a failure.

Having time to plan and prepare properly reduces the risk of failure though.

Yes we’ve only had since February, silly me.
Plus don’t forget “succession planning”, some of that spadework could have been done. And there are no guarantees that it reduces the risk unless you know the ins and outs. For instance a club could be down to their 3rd choice after weeks of meticulous planning.

Norton me old mucka, we don’t often see eye to eye on here, but you know what we keep it civil and have some good debates back and forth, which is healthy.
Today though is my one office day in the centre of Newcastle and I’m a metro ****er for the day. Have a good un, I might be able to respond, who knows. **** does that mean today IS the day?

Owt happened?
KLD asked Speakman to make a list in December. Turns out Speakman thought he meant Christmas list and now the club has spunked all it's Head Coach money on a PS5 and KLD is furious that Speakman appears no longer obsessed with progression
