Not often clubs call press conferences to announce things nowadays. They normally announce them then have a press conference later. If it was for their manager leaving, they'd not be in control over when it gets announced anyway.
Let’s hope we find out Still’s answer today. Cba for this to drag on for another week! If he agrees and signs can we just stick a picture of him on twitter and annnounce him then focus on interviews etc afterward
It would be reasonable to assume in that case that a new DoF would want some input into the head coach decision. Could Still be playing all this to get more of what he wants from us?
Depends on the situation really. Why show dignity and go on to appoint a lesser manager when we could have shown resilience and hired our preferred choice a day or so later. I'd take a little indignity for a much better manager personally. So hard to know what's going on.
The new DoF could have had input prior to his appointment. Murky world we are living in. Not like Omar Berrada has been distracted by tending tomato vines during his gardening leave.
If the "all in" offer has gone in yesterday then he shouldn't need more than a day. He's already spoken to us a lot by all accounts, so it's just whether the offer is enough to change his mind, whether it be salary based or job specifics. Let it go too long and he's probably just using us to leverage more from Lens.
For what's it's worth, i think that if we've pushed the boat out to try and get him to join, we can only wait so long for his answer. I would give him till tomorrow and after that move on to another candidate and put the same scenario to him. Time is ticking and we need to get this sorted prior to preseason
Look there's better out there than Will Still, we just need to change the model change our DOF and we can get a top coach, to get us up where we belong.
Erm, eh do nurt lake ze wimen. Eh do nurt think they should play le foot. Eh think they should cook ze toast and ze beans.
Seriously?. If we don't get 2 or 3 senior players who can help our young team, we will struggle this next season
