Agree; over the years I've spent quite a bit of time touring Germany, I think we have more in common with the Germans than any other Europeans.
I would agree, but the Dutch are very much on our side. There is still a lot of goodwill hung over from the 2nd world war.
And as my ex work colleague used to say about France, beautiful country spoilt by the people.

Poles seem to like us when I've been there...they really don't seem to like the Germans though...
I find the Normandy region the only place in France where they are (seem) genuinely happy to have the Brits around them.
My late dad did his National Service alongside a Polish regiment, he said they were great but, ****ing mental - drank more than the Brits and then when they couldn't find someone to scrap with they'd go to toe to toe and knock lumps off each other!
