There were no hoodies when I first went there over 50 years ago. It was actually rather civilised with late night bars and eateries compared to UK cities back then, great tram system etc but felt uneasy there for some reason. So did the mate I was with. Never have figured out why. Felt the same on further visits. Now when you look at Molenbeek anyone would feel uneasy in parts of Brussels.

As I had said I felt uneasy there when there were not people of a darker hue about showed a level of stupidity and lack of awareness.
