Agree with this.

However, people need to realise that these lads are just passing on info, which maybe correct, it maybe wrong. No one apart from the board know exactly who is on the list. We need to take their information on board but not state it as fact. Not one reputable journalist has even mentioned any names at all regarding our new boss. We're just going to have to wait and see.

Having caught up on today.
The one thing that stands out to me is how locked down tightly the club is regarding info.
To an extent that is a good thing. Let the club get on with its business.
However the last few years the clubs business has been accompanied by a running commentary of leaks.
The old saying stands true "Nature abhors a vacuum"
People will feel the need to fill it and often fill it with any snippets of info relevant, real or not
These get picked up on and interpreted in every possible way because there is nothing else.
Not sure what the club does about this but in a real information / social media age I think they could probably do better.

"Interviews are ongoing"
Or similar
That might stop people inventing wild scenarios in their minds and then whipping everyone else into a frenzy with them.

I think this is exactly what it needs. We've not heard a jot since the season finished.

A small statement saying something like "We thank the fans for their support this season and their continued patience whilst the process to appoint a new manage continues.

We have identified a number of targets, and we hope to have concluded the process to appoint a new head coach in the coming days/weeks etc..."

Doesn't say a lot but at least says something and shows an acknowledgement from the club that the fans are getting understandably Restless.

... but I'm just another anonymous poster on a little chat forum.

Not realistic to base pre-emptive criticism of the club on is it, especially when that poster doesn't believe a word I say.

It's hilarious when people say 'serious questions will need to be asked' as if the club gives a toss what some clown is posting. It can't be a serious question unless you know serious facts, he's basing his entire argument on chit chat.

I assume that's aimed at me.... All I am saying when 40.000 + fans start asking questions about the way the club is being run ...then yes it becomes uncomfortable...Just ask Donald and Methven. You cannot in all honesty be happy with the way things are... No recognised striker in 18. months and we have a revolving door policy with managers and now its been 3 months since we got rid of the last one. Not good enough for a club of our size. Nothing will convince me of anything else.

To be fair to the poster he is one of majority, it seems, who think Still was a target, and perhaps the target. It was in the media back when Mowbray went. It has been widely reported on here by posters that he is the man - I have read everything from he was offered the job in early April to he starts on the 1st June. No issue with those posters posting what they are told btw, good on them. But I do think it is reasonable, personally, to read all of the internet stuff and assume there is some credibility to what posters are saying. Personally I trust everyone who has a bit of ITK as genuine, so on that basis tend to think Still is the one they have gone for.

Fair enough fell m8, but I’ve read that he’s the target, maric or however u spell it, Rosenior and even some clown said Neil, none of us know, and I agree it’s reasonable for us to believe that any one of them is true, but is it reasonable to have a knee jerk if one of them doesn’t appear to be being pursued? I’m all for keeping abreast of potential movement at the club but don’t kick off when we, or at least I speak for me, hasn’t a scooby what’s real and what’s just speculation.

I’m no expert and obviously their main business is football But think in this day and age maybe they could manipulate (probably the wrong word) the media and social networks to their advantage Wouldn’t make any difference to the out come of course
Just think they are getting slagged off by people for something that hasn’t actually happened

Will Still isn’t being spoken about as the favourite to become our manager by absolutely everyone and his dog, plus being the bookies favourite by quite a way, because someone read something on this forum and spread it. There’s no smoke without fire.

I wouldnt say I'm a supporter that needs to hear statements or interviews from the club on a regular basis, but I am surprised there hasn't been any communication since the season ended. Speakman/KLD havent said a word since Beale left which surprises me after how the season ended up playing out. Even something like 'we expect to make an appointment prior to the beginning of preseason' which gives them a lot of leeway.

Tbf I quite like some of the wild scenarios we come out with on here haha. I dont really think today has been that 'negative' on here, everything is always speculation on here, the possible good news or possible bad news, just adds to decent debate. When Svensson was linked out of the blue a few (including me) were saying that it would be an exciting appointment and we may never have even spoke to the bloke. Fast forward to today, its been reported that Svensson has a new job, Rohl has signed a new deal, Maric is being promoted to Bayern assistant and Still isnt coming here, naturally you're going to get more posts of disappointment (such as mine) and none of these may have even been on the shortlist and we appointment someone better.

Not doubting people hear genuine stuff from within the club, I can remember things been posted on here that I hadnt heard about and then it came true a few days later. Also has went the other way where it didnt end up happening, doesnt bother me, I think it adds to the forum and the speculation/rumours makes for interesting reading.

I wouldnt say I'm a supporter that needs to hear statements or interviews from the club on a regular basis, but I am surprised there hasn't been any communication since the season ended. Speakman/KLD havent said a word since Beale left which surprises me after how the season ended up playing out. Even something like 'we expect to make an appointment prior to the beginning of preseason' which gives them a lot of leeway.

To be fair, some of the wild rumour and speculation is quite funny. I find the criticising the club on the flimsiest evidence a bit tedious though.
