There is a lot of debate about who we bought in the summer and if they are good enough. Well, imo, if we had a tactically aware manager we could have a far better return from our squad. This team would have been good enough to beat Wigan. Why wasn't it picked from the start of the season?

Westwood

O Shea, Brown, Turner, Bardsley

Larsson, Vaughan, Gardener, Sessegnon

Bendtner, Wickham, or Ji or Noble

The reason it wasnt picked is the manager is inept.

Just one question Cest..

Do you see O'Shea as our r/b or should he be c/b?

Not knocking Turner, but how about O'Shea and Brown.

harsh not to include Richardson in that side as for me he has been canny this season.

even looking at that team though it is still pretty average compared to the team we had this time last season, we certainly have gone backwards

If I was really harsh, I'd replace him and put him on the bench. He has been a huge disappointment for me and turner is improving imo.

Richardson and gardener can fight it out then.

That team is worse only because we lack any real firepower. Had Bruce done his job and replaced bent we wouldn't be struggling imo. That's the managers fault 100%

Can't understand why Cattermole is getting a game ahead of both Vaughan & Gardener?

Think you just mis-read it mate....sure he means that's only 2..just a mis-placed comma.

The side is very average, we must admit it.

It's the harsh reality.

its the midfield that is worse, and strikers. defence is OK. but look at who we have lost and not replaced:

Zenden - should of been offered a 1 yr contract
Malbranque - same as above
Henderson - good money but not replaced. he may of went sideways a lot but he had pace
Muntari - i know he was s**t for us, but a world class player given a full season would be awesome
Riveros - god knows why he didn't perform. maybe because of bruce. but maybe this is who we are missing??

IMO all of those would walk into our starting line up.

Forwards:

Welbeck - we all knew he wasn't stopping...but where was the planning. buying Wickham and Ji still left us 1 short.
Bent - who knows why he left. I know money played a part, but something else must of went on. Not replaced.
Gyan - creedy again..but he must of known how bad Sunderland were, and also he seems to not like Bruce...still not talked to him yet? Not replaced.

Even defenders we have let go:

Hutton - 4 million we should of snapped their hands off for him (i know he was the season before but he only left to AV this summer)
Mensah - is there something wrong with our physios, because he seems to be playing fine for Lyon
Ferdinand - i still think this was a mistake letting him go. he was decent with Brown.

Overall we have seriously went backwards...

All agreed mate.

Problem is, will anyone want to play for Bruce now? Fans on his back, uneloquent handling of media. ****s creek mate, never mind the paddle, we haven't got a ****ing canoe!

Agreed it does look average. But if the man stopped changing the team every game and even more during the game,
Gave the S-T-R-O-N-G-E-S-T 11 plenty of game time they would at least have a bit of cohesion, build an awareness of each others game and (his words) G-E-L. At the moment he changes players for no other reason that picking out straws out of his hand. AND WHAT THE **** HE DOES DURING THE MATCH IS SOMETHING WORSE THAN ******ED.

Not one player is good enough for our team. This policy Bruce has of signing numbers of average players has failed.

First prize for the most obvious post of the day. You beat Chapped arse to it.

If we signed Tevez, Iniesta, Messi and Xavi you would spout your bias ****e they werent good enough for Real Noocarsel.

Without Ba what would be your points tally this season? Work it out daft lad. Thats the biggest difference between top 10 and bottom 10.

You have a goal scorer and we dont.

So change the ****ing record you boring little tit.

I agree with this too, and my worry is that if Bruce stays he is likely to rely on Campbell coming back rather than going out and getting the 'proven goalscorer' we need.

I would also buy Onouha as back up for the defence and a creative central midfielder who can dominate games.
