If Clarke does go =I think these may be good enough We need mor quality I’ve not seen many decent performances from the rest of the to suggest there can improve us
Goalkeepers: Wouldn't be against selling Patterson for a decent fee. Think you can pick up good GKs on frees/low fees and it's an easy way to add experience and leadership to the squad. Think Bishop will be loaned out like Bass was. Young will get pre season to impress but think another loan is best for his development. League 2 preferably. Bass has had a good season at Wimbledon, we can probably get a decent fee. We have some other good young GKs coming through so would like to see them loaned out to a decent standard also. If we sell Patto, we probably need to bring in 2 GKs. Defenders: Happy with Hume and Pembele for the RB slot. Think Hume may have some interest but i'd be surprised if he left. Pembele needs more game time though. Ballard again will have interest but again I can't see him leaving. We can control the price due to his contract though so we are protected either way. O'Nien is obviously a polarising player. Think he has good attributes but also serious deficiencies. Definitely keep him but not sure I want him playing 46 games. Huggins and Seelt I like but both are out long term. If I remember correctly Huggins may be out all of next season and Seelt we probably won't see till 2025. Triantis seems to have impressed in midfield up at Hibs. Give him a chance there pre season and go from there. If he fails to take the chance then another loan is fine. Alese and Cirkin both need to prove they can stay fit before anything else. Both good players, I personally really like Cirkin. Keep both but we can't have another season like this with them both. Hjelde is fine as a squad player. Keep. Anderson we can sell. Again got some good kids coming through, Crompton and Bainbridge have impressed me the most. Bainbridge should be given a chance. Think we need a CB and maybe a LB, possibly a loan. Midfielders: Neil, Ekwah, Jobe, Aouchiche and Rigg all should stay unless a ridiculous offer comes in. Neil will have serious interest. Jobe and Ekwah will both probably have interest but doubt any serious bids come in. We desperately need Rigg to sign the contract. Fine with both Matete and Embleton leaving. Like both but had injuries at very unfortunate times and we need better quality. Also fine with both Dack and Evans not being renewed, Evans a great servant and if the club think his leadership is valuable then keep him but he can't be starting a lot of games. I'd keep Styles if he was going to be utilised in midfield. We desperately need a 6. A good one will complement the midfielders we already have. Wingers: Clarke will probably leave. Big job to replace his output. I'm fine with Roberts leaving. Doubt we'll get many bids mind. Just not what I want from a winger at all. You just simply need to be doing more as one of the senior and highest paid players at the club. Mundle is very raw. I like him though, is a good backup and needs time. Ba just hasn't kicked on since arriving. Hasn't been helped by being taken in and out of the team irrespective of his form. Think we could probably get a good fee for him though, would do really well in the French league. I'd keep but needs to improve. Bennette I have no idea. His loan seems to have been a waste of time. If we can get a fee for him let him go. A good loan would be my preferred option but just not sure that will happen. Watson needs first team minutes next season. Some other good young wide players in the academy also. Pre season key for Watson especially. Think we need at least one winger, probably two if/when Clarke leaves. Willock is a good start, can play both sides and has output. Second winger signing probably all depends on if Watson can make a squad spot his own. Strikers: Rusyn I like and want to stay. Only played 793 minutes and has 2 goals. Wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to go though. Can play wide which helps make it easier to fit him into a squad. Hemir needs to play games. Get him out on loan to a decent level and make a decision in 2025. Mayenda similar to Hemir needs to play. Hibs loan a waste of time. Thought he looked decent when given a chance but we need more. Another loan but make sure it's to a place where he will play. Burstow barely worth talking about. Please do not sign him. Tuterov is interesting. Again a chance in pre season to stake a claim. Need at minimum 2 forwards. A lot of work to do and a lot of it has to do with who actually departs. We have a good base but the overall squad leaves a lot to be desired.
If we lose Clarke, we need to replace him with prpoer talent. The spine of the team is really important, and natural leaders needed too please.....I wonder? Past players who are currently still playing that I'd love to return to the spine of the team are :- Pickford Jonny Evans (for his final playing season) Henderson Welbeck Any one of those would do.....for my pipe dream.

Im not against it, if the player is ready for now (or solely for youth team) but they can not be relied on as the main player for their position Cdm n cf we need 2 championship ready players, must be able to hit the ground running - ideally theyd have played in the championship before If we come across a talented young player we shouldnt be put off signing them but we must balance the squad better
Not one to get the pulse racing like is he? Have to hope the scouts have seen something but their track record with strikers doesn’t fill me with confidence
Jamal Lowe - soon to be available on a free. Always rated him and he has the sort of experience I hope we are targeting this summer…
I don't think we should be against looking in L1 for strikers either, Colby Bishop, 27 and the second top scorer could come for a decent fee. I feel like we haven't had success up top as we haven't signed a proper striker with men's experience, doesn't matter if it isn't the champ etc, just genuine men's football experience.
Partly yes. There’s only value here in certain circumstances though. With a handful of helpful experienced guides, the knack is to get those ready to step up who are affordable who have years ahead of them. Ultimately they need to be good enough. Value isn’t those not good enough who cost nowt, it’s those good enough who haven't done it yet. You can get better value by paying more depending on where they can reach and not sure we’ve done enough of that bit.
Bishop was being linked to Ipswich in December for £3m. Pompey have now been promoted so how much would you be prepared to pay a Championship club for him? He's scored 21 goals in League One this season, but 8 of those have been penalties. 13 open play goals at the age of 27 and having never played at this level before... I'm not sure I'd be spending the budget on him personally.
