That's essentially what it is yes, the ball will have a chip inside it and the cameras inside the stadium will identify when players are in an offside position. It's more complicated than that but it was used at the last World Cup and it's so much better than the current line drawing system.

Ok cool that’s much better then. If it works instantly then that’s definitely a solution.

I really hope they start giving the benefit of the doubt to attackers more as well. Coventry’s goal should have stood. It was a joke that it was disallowed.

Does this VAR nonsense soften any potential blow should we not get promoted ?

The version which FIFA use involves a sensor inside the ball, but not the version which UEFA use. UEFA's is more AI-based, I believe.

The PL will be adopting UEFA's version.

I would love to see the daylight rule introduced. The game should be in favour of the attacking team, I’d rather see a goal from an attacker who is a yard in front of the defender than an ‘offside’ from a toe or a pointing arm.

Technology will solve the problem eventually and inarguably.

It is definitely the rule at fault. It was designed with the human eye in mind. As long as the attacker is tethered to not go beyond the defender, the spirit of the law exists. This wasn’t dreamed up as noses of advantage- it was meant to stop goalhanging. If there is no daylight between attacker and defender then he is tethered at the law intended.

The ****ing officials man. Goals are so important in the game, they’re the only reason the game even exists but they’re bending over backwards and turning inside out to find ways and reasons to reduce the number scored. It’s totally counter to the spirit of the game, I fecking hate the way the premier league is being officiated.
