Caution on selling Patto, remember the dross we went through post relegation in order to find a good keeper like Patterson, other than that one good season by McLaughlin we were extremely ordinary in that position.

Aye one of them is currently playing for Brighton :emoticon-0102-bigsm

pattos time will come when he moves on he's in no rush and the club isn't aswell i think him and the club will wait until young is ready, the hype around young is probably on par if not potentially bigger what rigg is at the moment and that's saying something

if you do it right you could potentially have young ready to come in with 15-20 ready to spend on other areas
I was out last Sunday and all Darlington players were in same bar. We got talking to there goalkeeping coach and he said the ceiling for young is massive unbelievable goalkeeper. Also said darlo fans loved Pickford but rare young higher. Looks like we've got another brilliant young keeper coming through the ranks.

I reckon if Young can get another good loan next year, he could be ready for the Championship the year after, that's how much hope I have.

On Patterson;

Suppose it's a bit of fence sitting. When it comes to the fee supposed, 10-15 mill? Doesn't that mean we'd be able to spend 20-30 mill without repercussions from FFP? Sure homegrown academy lads give you double in terms of spending leeway.

However, like has been said he's still very young for a goalie, so experienced with more to learn. He's easy a top goalie at this level. We've had some shocking goalies in the past and losing him would be worrying because of this and **** because he's a local lad.

Could be a marvellous move or a regret.

I would be surprised if anybody was seriously in for Patterson. I think he has loads going for him, and will play premiership football at some point. His footwork though will put prem clubs off though I think. The thing Pickford had that made him so attractive so youmg was his ability with the ball at feet, and that all came from his futsal days. You can still see that futsal keeper in him now. Patto doesnt lool like he has that to me. I can see improvement all the time in him, but that is a thing most prem clubs will want I suspect.

Does that need an edit mate?

Wasnt Pickford a striker earlier on in his career or have i just made that up? Sure i read it somewhere though.

Plenty decent keepers we could replace with especially if we strengthen midfield and stop being so easy to play through, Rotherham keeper would be a good pick up, the lad at Plymouth is very good too
to be honest the one club he would go to right now would be everton if everton was to move pickford on,

he's doesn't want to leave to just sit on a bench

that's how it works in the prem not really sure how
the championship one works and if it's the same or not

Good on him, his attitude is class by all accounts and very little seems to phase him, I’m by no means saying I want to sell, would just rather lose him than Neil if it was a toss up

Really quite excited for the summer now. A lot of business to attend to.

Ownership changes?
Boardroom changes?
Coach?
Rigg contract?
Other renewals?
Outgoings?
Incomings?
Anything else?

Huge chance to push on and we simply have to take it.

I think we are going to be disappointed with some of the outgoings however this is how the model will start. Bit like having a loan player you love but they go only this time we will get good money.

Yeah simply has to happen. In fact, i'd be quite concerned about the direction we are headed if someone doesn't leave for decent money.

I think that's a good way of looking at it. I just hope it's not too many and we don't have time to replace them even if we think we already have a replacement that can step in.

I think they've learned they've made mistakes this season they've admitted it. Shouldn't have came out at beginning of season though saying we won't be happy with play offs. We will get back on track next season I think and have a good go 3 teams coming down aren't as good as this year's either.

A quality manager changes everything

Look at what alonso has done at leverkusen, struggling before he went in - he gave them a massive boost, 1 good transfer window and they could win 3 trophies

This is the be all and end all for me.

Manager has to be perfect now.

It's why I've been so intrigued by the poaching of a foreign coach who has done wonders, like Marek Papzun.

Recruitment is vital too. Mowbray wasn't everyone's choice but we were absolutely unbelievable last season. Best I've ever seen football wise.
