Watching Hull tonight mind, I think Rosenior would be the man I want. Our best hope would be the Hull chairman buggering off which is being talked about, but his team plays some exciting well organised football.

Doesn't sound very exciting to me. For the quality of player they have to not be in the top 6 is pretty poor.

Amir Richardson, Mohamed Daramy, Reda Khadra, Oumar Diakite and towards the back end of the season Valentin Edoa have all been good for Reims this season and are young. Balogun last season as well.

Watched this yesterday and I really like him and the way he comes across and the way he interacts with the players. It's in French but it's subtitled, and Still often breaks into English.

They are currently 7th, that would be their highest Ligue 1 finish since the 70s apart from when they finished 5th in the 19/20 Covid shortened season so who knows where they would've finished. And this is in a season where Reims lost 6 players to AFCON/Asian Cup for a long stretch of games.

Bilingual, tactically astute, good communicator (to me, as you say no doubt our fans will have an issue with it), track record of developing players, and taking Reims to positions they aren't accustomed to.

Don't get the negativity of some fans, but I guess there's no pleasing some.
That was a good watch, thanks for posting.
I still think that Still is very intense and quite introverted. I would be concerned that some people might not take to him because of that and see him in a similar way to how Beale and Johnson were perceived. I think it works though and I liked the way he interacted with the players and it seemed to me that his attitude towards the game and towards life was sensible. He also said a lot that I agreed with in that. Particularly about not being able to control everything and about paying attention to how he comes across. One minor concern is how often he mentioned being tired.

If its Still that comes, I want him to be allowed to bring his staff. Especially his brother and Alberto Escobar (coach he speaks to in dugout at around 19:40 in the video). Escobar was part of Jokanovic's staff at Fulham when they were promoted from the Championship

I think anyone wanting to appoint Still will recognise how him important his staff are to him. That's been extremely well documented. If we're serious about him (and God knows if we are), I doubt we'd be trying to get him to come without them.

Escobar was at Birmingham City with Clotet too, wasn't he? Good reputation in Spain and does a lot of the analytical stuff, I believe.

Cheers for that interesting watch.
I like Still, watched a bit of Reims and like they way they play. They do have some excellent players though.
He could be the perfect fit. but I still have a nagging doubt. Maybe its his age, lack of experience or Maybe its a bit of a Beale legacy.
But love his attitude and the way his teams play. If it is him then don't mess about let him bring in who he wants and run things how he wants.

Def not being negative (dont think you were saying i was being negative), i give rohl the edge but thats just a gut feeling

My top 3 at the minute would be
Rohl
Cooper
Still

Id rather take a chance on a still than go for a Heckingbottom

Yep id be happy with any of the 3 i mentioned

Ill support whoever comes in, i want an appointment that i can get excited about

The beale appointment really deflated me as id see what he had done at rangers n there were far too many concerns n worries

Rohl having that Sheff Wed team even close to staying up is unbelievable. Think he should've been on the manager of the season shortlist, especially over Rosenior

Dont let on mate, telling you this in confidence. I have been offered the gig. Just negotiating on my assistants and budget for press conference sweets.

Think this is important with this appointment. I know it should be the case that everyone gets behind the new man (whoever that may be), but I fear that a Heckingbottom would be on the back foot before a game is played.
Someone like a still, cooper, rohl have the potential to galvanise the fanbase going in to the summer.

I watched it 10 minutes ago, I like him

every appointment is a gamble, but still will be are most exciting appointment in a long time in my opinion,he's rated as one of the best up and coming head coaches in the world, has improved his team year on year, hopefully he can do the same here

Fingers crossed

Agreed. They looked absolutely done when we played them earlier in the season. Sunderland being better than even money that night was one of the best bookie prices I’ve seen in years. (Early pay out after 7 minutes).
