Not getting the cooper thing, don't get me wrong hes a decent manager just don't get the he will hold for a premier league job thing. He record in the premier league wasn't great

Cooper would be my first choice. He has great experience coaching and developing young players. He did good jobs at both Swansea and Forest however I’m with you. I don’t think he’ll get a Premier League job. Palace was one of the only ones I thought he may have a chance at. If Ipswich don’t go up I can see McKenna being ahead of him for a Premier League job.

He would be one of the favourites for a relegated club from the Premier League in the summer so I could see him ending up at Burnley or Sheff Utd. Maybe even a Leicester if they mess it up. I think he’ll be waiting to the summer for the best Championship job he can get. We could be the best option he has.

Perhaps Mowbray had been asked to stop knocking the club at every press conference ...

... by the end he was just giving the players a good excuse.

And himself I imagine.

Aye the club do nowt wrong - it's absolutely perfect in every way - we are blessed to have Dodds/Proctor masterminding 5-1 home defeats to teams who haven't won in 12 games

i personally don't think any owner/SD will be able to build something long term here, because soon as a poor period hits the fans will want everyone sacked
If people actually listened to KLDs first interviews it would help. 5 year plan to get us to PL. It's currently year 3.

The instant gratification modern football fans need is bizarre.

I do think Speakman should be replaced, not because he's done a bad job but because we can upgrade, same theory should be put in place for everyone at the club.

We are fine, it's a bad run of form but every club has them. We just aren't used to boring mid table seasons.

I wonder what Dodds/Proctor record is when they've had the job - something like 3 wins in 18 games at a guess.

Rotherham wouldn't want them yet here we are - Speakman is a chancer who doesn't want to be challenged or called out on his own failings imo.

FFS can't you wait till AFTER the match to start slagging the club off??

Nobody has said it's perfect in everyway, but some fans like yourself go on like we are the worst run club in the world. Just because we have hit a bad spell.

I get why you're saying this but I'm going to have to disagree mate. I think the level of frustration coming from sections of the fan base is because the level of mistakes made this season, especially how unforced they were. I think it would of been a tiny minority wanting Speakman to go last summer, he'd done a lot of good up to then, but the summer window, sacking Mowbray to appoint Beale, the January window and then giving Dodds a third of the season when we were 6? points away from the playoffs is a really poor showing from Speakman this season. Then you throw in the BCB situation (nothing to do with KS), it adds more fuel to the fire for some.

Go back a year ago, when we were looking like we were just going to miss out on 6th, there was no demand for KLD/Speakman/Mowbray to go, there was some disappointment of course, but I think the fan base could see there was something getting built for the long term (in fairness probably put some unrealistic expectations going into this season for some fans including myself).

I would say that there can be elements of overreaction when we go on a bad run, weirdly for the last two years we havent experienced too much of it which has been rare for SAFC for years! Bad runs of form happen for everyone and I think sometimes we have to accept it as just that and not a crisis, but this season I can understand the frustration levelled at the club. (I'm still KLD in for sure but undecided on Speakman).

Year 1 - promotion through playoffs - achieved
Year 2 - comsolidate in championship (or automatic promotion from League 1) - overachieved
Year 3 - sell all our experience, buy another load of kids, sack two managers without a succession plan, leave the kids to it and finish bottom half and in freefall - achieving

Suggestions for years 4 and 5.....

This season has exposed their limitations. If we want to plod along as a feeder club for the big boys they'll be fine. They didn't take advantage of last year's overachievement and didn't have a plan for replacing a manager. Successful models and sporting directors are able to pivot quickly.

I quite literally said Speakman should be replaced. The experience we sold aren't good players, none of them would improve us just like none of them have improved their new clubs. Our current players will be more experienced next season, we'll sign players as we'll have even more money to spend. We'll be fine.

I think this encapsulates it for me. Go back a year and there was a certain amount of contentment. But all it takes is one mistake (the BCB) on the club's part and things not to go quite so well on the pitch, which can happen, and people are losing their **** all over the place. People have no resilience anymore.
