They’ll want to but they’re not good enough for a promotion pushIt also assumes we won’t have any youth players stepping up, the likes of Smith, Jarvis (?), Jacob and Mills will want to be pushing for the first team.

If we’re struggling to get top 6 with our current players do you really think the answer is players like Simons, Woods, Longman, Smith, Jarvis, and Mills?
We’ve done it with worse players.
No we havent
Yeah, we have. A lot of the team that got us up through the playoffs in 07/08 weren’t exactly world beaters. They were grafters. We certainly didn’t have an AFCON winner (who won it while at City anyway), two Turkish internationals, two Irish internationals, three England U21s, a Portugal U21 and a Dutch U21.
A lot of that team that got us promoted were signed from the leagues beneath us either that season or came up with us through the leagues.
Its an absolutely pointless discussion as it was 16 years ago
Alot different
Plus they actually got promoted
Theres no chance if we have those players on loan in our starting team we will get promoted out of the championship
Right, so we have been promoted with worse players then.
It’s also not pointless, because Luton did something similar last season.

They were established professionals not youth players trying to prove themselves in the senior gameRight, so we have been promoted with worse players then.

They did it on a budget. It was nothing like our season ffs. They were at the top the whole seasonRight, so we have been promoted with worse players then.

Dont talk ****e
Simons
Woods
Jarvis
Smith
And el
Have about 40 games between them
Its not comparable in the slightest
Disagree - none of Smith, Woods, Longman, Jarvis, Simons or Mills would have gotten into the 07/08 team

Just stop mateThey’re not going to be the mainstay of our squad, just like Nathan Doyle wasn’t a mainstay in our promotion season, it doesn’t mean you can’t achieve stuff with a less talented squad.
But they can act as cover in a pinch. Woods will be gone anyway (along with Doc), Simons is obviously going to have to prove himself to give us a reason to keep him and Smith I think will step up. Dunno about Jarvis, maybe if he keeps ****ting all over the Irish league he might get brought into the fold as well, but neither him or Smith will be first choice unless they suddenly have an upturn in development and ability. I think Smith will. Jarvis has it harder.
Preston have more points than us
How much have they spent
